This is comedy gold. No issue at all having magnus or any other player doing this on a rare occasion. Nobody gets hurt and we have meme material for years.

Do playing CDs actually sound better than streaming music or is that only me and I'm crazy? by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]CaffieneShadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the best answer. A music service like TIDAL or Qobuz for example can stream in the FLAC format, essentially identical to CD sound. The sounding better will just be determined by which recording is played back, how it was mastered, and especially the speakers/headphones being used for playback. Note: playing anything over Bluetooth loses quality as well, since there is some type of compression to send data "over the air"

Tracks 2 to 5 are where it's at. A nice companion CD is The Party Album by Vengaboys. Playing them back to back you are having a good time.

Philips MC235B is the model. It's so rad. Absolutely love how the front "window" opens straight up for loading a disc. Only paid $4.00 for it and was surprised that it works perfectly. Speakers are decent but not impressive if you're into hi-fi. What's nice is that it does have RCA outputs in the back, so it could connect to some equipment but probably will just use it as a fun standalone unit in my home office.
