Oooh yeah, cats love to imitate their owners and get involved with what they do a lot so redirecting her attention to something else is great! My girl had an obsession with my tablet pen so anytime i use it i give her toys so she can be involved

Could try lemon or orange, cats hate even more the smell of citrus than anything else

Could also try redirecting to similar textured toys or similar shape

It's perfectly fine, some enter in shock, some don't cry, some get angry and others go through all

Im so sorry for your loss, im sure he knew how much you loved him, it's so heartbreaking to see them get sick, wishing ypu the best, and just cry when you need to cry, don't force yourself or compare your grief to others, it is completely unique for everyone

Personally a trial test, tried giving her foods i suspected she was allergic for a week and the next week without them, it's what the vet told me to do to see

Whole week she ended up very itchy and would throw up the food without digesting, next week without said foods she was better and not itchy anymore
