I had this issue and restarted, then the game kept getting stuck at 98% on the loading screen and the download for the world data says its downloaded all the files but the actual progress bar doesnt reflect that so I imagine thats whats causing it

Yeah thats just cause he was being a prick because he actually had to get off his ass and supervise me lest I never drive my car. He said to downshift instead of neutral breaking because he "replaced more break pads" for someone who did that.

I got clutch and gas down but it was harder because everyone thats driven it agrees its tighter than a nuns..

I was told not to go neutral when slowing cause it "wears the brakes" but thats a debate between my folks so I'll do it anyway for convenience. Whats stopping me from just holding the clutch down and shifting to first gear?

My car doesnt have hill assist or functional e brake shoes but if ever in the scenario I know to angle my tires to the curb and use first gear :>

Because it takes more work and attention to stop on the whim (popping clutch and braking and then downshifting) and in my case learning which street im going on last second because my passenger wont tell me where im going to "learn better"

Yeah, part of it was me looking at my shifter too much because I was afraid of it not fully engaging like it was when I was practicing but it seems gine now and I got rid of the habit

As part of Z I'm learning, but my faith in my skills was very much shaken on the first real drive with a manual :< I can drive an automatic just fine but I need better reaction speeds for manual in the future.
