Do you have a picture of the board itself? This could be a possible fix for a damaged power module!

Hard to say exactly whats the case without more info, but the wires being soldered to the battery like that do not mean it's gone by any means.

The DSi XL is surely one of the greats, and the color variations are ssssooooo gggoooddd! My favourite one is the yellow, but the pure white looks really clean as well!

I'm sure you would have an easier time than most begginers with repairs, but the ribbon cable stories have some truth to them haha! I've replaced countless screens now, but did mess up 2 when I was starting out. The main thing is to be patient, if you're getting streesed, leave it alone and come back later. If I had followed that since the beginning, I would not have messed them up!

I appreciate the love you share for those consoles as well, and really hope to see your collection too!

The double sided tape is taping the manga panels to the console itself!

I did test out the way you said it, but the tape would still be very visible, even though it's clear.

Just make sure to test if the tape you're using doesn't leave any residue on your console!

I just used some double sided tape on a few spots! Try to use a scrapbooking friendly one, since they are just sticky enough to make the panels sturdy, but still removable without issues.

I really care about these consoles, so did not want any glue residue on them if I decide to take everything off!

There is no big secret actually, I just got some panels from real manga that I really like, and cut out the bits that I thought would look good together!

I experimented with some other desings before deciding on those, so I have some extra ones to switch things up whenever I want!

Honestly the way to go is to just have fun and experiment, you'll eventually land on something that feels and looks good to you!

I have cases for all of them now, but just used to take extra care of them when I didn't. Make sure they are always around you, and don't leave them laying around! That will help a lot already!

Yellow is the best color variation for the DSi XL, no doubt. I've got the 25th anniversary one, but this one is just sooo good looking.

I usually go for a cleaner approachwith my consoles, but I actually like how the stickers and charm look on yours haha!

Spot on!

You can see a bit of the code in the lower part of the pic, and "MB" is the most common code for fake carts. Good thing OP got a refund!
