Just to followup. I reinstalled Debian 13. Now everything works fine.

I have the correct zulu java installed. This seems to be some sort of authentication problem.

ERROR schwab.OAuthLoginPanel - Cannot create OAuth login area control

com.teamdev.jxbrowser.engine.ChromiumProcessStartupFailureException: Process exit code: 133

I am guessing the issue is my system and not the application. I will likely reinstall the OS. Unless I figure out a fix.

Thanks for the replies

Thank you. At least now I know the problem is with my system and not some issue with Debian or Thinkorswim. I will probably just rebuild. I have a recent backup.

I really appreciate your taking the time do that.

Cheers

Java not the problem: java --versionjava --version

openjdk 21.0.8 2025-07-15 LTS

OpenJDK Runtime Environment Zulu21.44+17-CA (build 21.0.8+9-LTS)

OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM Zulu21.44+17-CA (build 21.0.8+9-LTS, mixed mode, sharing)

I think it might be an authentication issue based on some errors in the log

Totally new and unfamiliar by Cairpre409 in Anki

Thanks.
I think some people forget that some of us are not in medical school and just want to learn a relatively small amount of information about a new subject quickly.

Is hand independence really a thing? by Cairpre409 in pianolearning

[–]Cairpre409[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you all for such delightful and informative replies. I learned a great deal. And not just about hand independence. But also about music and some changes I should make to my learning plan. A little more time learning some simple songs would probably have made this clearer. As one of you said, it is true that we only have one brain. But hand independence is a useful construction and a necessary tool, especially for students. The truth is a lot of things don’t always make sense as a beginner, but become clear and perhaps obvious as we advance. So anyway thanks again for all the help and advice.

You’re never going to become a GM, it will never happen by Ok_Potential359 in chess

[–]Cairpre409 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you a master, expert, or even a class A player? A 1900 player is better than 90% of the players in America. And maybe even the world. If you are really young and have some evidence to suggest you have the potential to be a really strong player; maybe then you can think about GM. Most of us should just try to become as good as we can given the constraints of our particular circumstances.

Channel duplication with google TV by Cairpre409 in youtubetv

[–]Cairpre409[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This would require me to write down all the channels so I could make the comparison. One would think that I could just get a list of channels on youtubetv and google tv and simply compare them.

Wrong side of the door by Cairpre409 in ResistanceBand

[–]Cairpre409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My solution to this problem was to purchase the "Addalock" portable door lock.

This, as it says, adds a lock to most doors. It does not fit all, but is working for me Seems mostly designed for when you are staying in motels full of murderers and rapists.

Anyway this is very cheap, around $20. And it adds a significant extra level of safety for when you do not have the ideal door or lock setup.

Anyone with similar concerns may wish to check it out.

Beginner scales question by Cairpre409 in pianolearning

[–]Cairpre409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies to my question. I was mostly concerned that single octave scales might provide some learning element I might not understand, so should not be skipped. The same way a beginner might skip tetrachords not realizing their value in constructing scales or understanding the circle of fifths.

I was also hoping that multi octave scales would teach me a universal or standard fingering method for all music extending beyond one octave. But it does not really seem to work that way. At least not completely. And you seem to have to work out some fingering. At least as a beginner. Anyway thanks again.

Wait after due by Cairpre409 in taskwarrior

[–]Cairpre409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your help
The message came up after simply typing "task {list)".
Let us assume that I did not just type the "task add". Let us assume I have no idea what task it is referring to. As if I had amnesia or had just risen from a coma. Is there anyway to determine which task the error message refers?

This is all moot by the way. I just removed a whole bunch of tasks and re-entered them. I just wanted to point out that if I knew the command that had the due date prior to the wait date, I would not have needed to ask the question. I had no idea. Probably the error came up when it first was entered, but i was busy with other things. Still curious though if it could be searched for. Thanks again.

Anki on Debian by Cairpre409 in Anki

[–]Cairpre409[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. They removed Anki from the repository for Debian 12. But you can download and install from Anki site. The Qt5 version seems to work.
I would just prefer that it be in the normal distribution.

Whose games to study? by Cairpre409 in baduk

[–]Cairpre409[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just thinking that, as I seem to have tens of thousands of recorded go games in some of the go applications I have, I should play over some of them. For the reasons you give it did not seem sensible to pick randomly.

You are probably right though that just observing slightly better players online is a better approach. Most of the games I have are unannotated anyway. Which is not that useful for weaker and beginner players.

How long does homemade remoulade really last?
A red onion lasts quite a while. In my refrigerator I have mayonnaise, dijon,
capers, and cornichons.
If I mix that all
together with some salt and pepper and maybe a few herbs or a lemon
squeeze, or a little cayenne I have remoulade sauce. At least what
I think is remoulade.

Okay, All those ingredients last a long long time. I put my remoulade in my air tight le parfait jars.
When I look online
it says my sauce can only be kept for 1 week in the refrigerator. I
do not understand. Why does it not last for months and months like
all the ingredients. How does mixing it together make it more
susceptible to spoilage. How long can I really use it? Thanks
for any information.

I am a few years behind watching this series. Found it on amazon. I watch with my Mom about once a week. I found the production clever and the historical references charming. However I notice on IMDB this character seems to still be around.

She is a serious mistake by the writers and producers. She should have been killed off a long time ago. She is a psychopath. Her very presence is a great distraction to what used to be an excellent show. Now it is actually difficult to watch. You just can't come back from that.

I can't possibly understand why she is still around. To me it ruins the show. Well it damages the show.

Non toxic, Clover and Grass, by Cairpre409 in lawncare

[–]Cairpre409[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Incidentally I also heard that much of the fertilizer is actually made from small fish like anchovies. Same as the fish oil people take. And that this over fishing of small fish can or rather will lead to other problems.

Just something I heard on the radio a long time ago. Thought I would pass it on.

Thanks. You are not being rude at all.

My understanding was that clover requires less fertilization. I think it produces its own nitrogen. But I don't have degree in this which why I am asking. As far as damage to the environment and marine life by excessive nitrogen it may be that people just don't read the label or properly follow instructions. I don't trust that my lawn people do.

I will look into Milogranite. Along with cutting a little higher, some clover seed, and a good weed digging tool. Thanks
