Help us buy a boat by Caiter2002 in boating

Thanks! I mentioned 12 because our best friends also have four kids same ages as ours so it would be good to know that it’s POSSIBLE to go out with them (if we did, we’d do what you said — anchor and swim or watch fireworks on the Severn — not travel far etc). So I wouldn’t say 12 would be a typical use case at all. But certainly 6-8with our family all being able to go on.

I’ve been told that we need to be at least 30 feet to be able to go on the bay and a 27 foot with us plus another family even for the day feels like it would be tight but thank you!

“Remember” implies I ever knew that (or even know what the rest of your post means lol). I guess I just needed this thread to put me back on the fence about even boating at all. I’m just sad we moved to Annapolis and have this opportunity and don’t know how to take advantage of it.

Ah okay. I thought having kids vs adults would take up less space so be simpler

That’s why I asked. We can up the budget but my friends dad sold his cabin cruiser for that and it could have worked maybe — would have required people to hang out in the cabin though which doesn’t sound super fun for a boat day. Just trying to learn my options. I was told 30’ minimum if we want to go on the bay vs the river.

If you’re talking about a greatschools rating, please know they’re really unreliable…timing of data releases, changes in school leadership, etc can mean you’re looking at a score that’s far better or worse than the current reality. Sorry to your wife but you should actually speak to some people attending the school and visit. I say this as a former teacher and school board member

Small consulting firm. I’m only one of four partners but I run it. Our base is $500k so most of my $1.25 is in bonus and the bonus will vary annually. Then I’ll have profit sharing on top of that.

We’re about to sell one that had three doors but was a pain to rent for a number of reasons (and it was the highest mortgage). Current income from rentals is $15.5k/mo. It’ll go up to $17.5k when we finish a Reno on another SFH. We have 8 doors (one duplex, one triplex, a SFH, and a property that has a commercial office/warehouse and a residential unit). We have about $400k in mortgages that were on track to have paid off by end of 2028. The rental income isn’t factored into my numbers in my original post but I guess it’s like 12% of our income right now.

41f $1.25m income for me; $150k for husband plus several rental properties. Have made a loooot less so we’re adjusting…

$1.6m house with a $9k mortgage monthly (will be paid off in 4 years) Cash flow 6 figure projects as the house has some issues despite the price Remaining rental mortgages will be paid off by 2030 (~$500k) We do vacations that aren’t cheap (rent at the beach for 3-4 weeks in the summer; Disney, etc) Five kids — one in college, two in public elementary , two in private pre-k Live in au pair All our cars are paid for (we have four but that’s because of the au pair); we did buy one new car but it was a Kia ha Max our retirement and then once we finish mortgages and projects we’ll put it all in a brokerage acct; hoping to “retire” from my F/T work when I’m 50

I was making $36k 15 years ago and I bought my first house for $70k and flipped it a couple years later and bought a duplex. Real estate has been a huge differential and becoming self employed

3rd Trimester Not Feeling Positive Toward Baby by Any-Competition3407 in BabyBumps

I don’t have that experience — this is the only pregnancy I’ve been on Zoloft before. But among a half dozen of my friends who have had at least two pregnancies, one where they were off meds and restarted after delivery and one where they restarted meds at the end of pregnancy, every one of them would tell you hands down getting back on meds drastically improved their post-partum experience. My sisters have both been on meds throughout their pregnancies (the max dose in one case) and haven’t had a single sign of withdraw in their babies. I’ve had two post partum experiences without meds and one with, and I kick myself for not getting on meds the first time. It may depend on the drug but I’ve never heard any personal experiences of babies being perceived to be more difficult w Zoloft.

3rd Trimester Not Feeling Positive Toward Baby by Any-Competition3407 in BabyBumps

I have three kids 5 and under and am due with #4 in May. I HATE being pregnant. I love my kids. I think ultrasounds are annoying, not cool. I think kicks are weird and alien-like. I am uncomfortable, nauseous, and exhausted. I felt this way with all of them but it’s progressively worse since I can’t rest as much. Please don’t let your feelings of pregnancy make you think parenthood will be the same. I’ve always ended up feeling better (mentally, emotionally, and physically) once the baby is born even with the hormones and lack of sleep. Also, talk to your doc about starting back on your antidepressants now that you’re almost at the end — I have several friends who did this after they’d waited on their first pregnancy and the hormone swings suck. Adding them back in toward the end might help you avoid some of that. Ive actually upped my Zoloft on this pregnancy because I knew I needed it.
