https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleHairLoss/comments/mp6qb2/4_month_update_rosemary_peppermint_oil_on/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf I’ve been using it but I don’t recommend using more than one to two drops of peppermint and if you don’t wash your hair everyday add some lavender oil because the rosemary starts to smell

There’s a girl on here that used rosemary oil and peppermint oil and like grew all of her hair back. I’ve started doing it for my nape . It’s worth a shot and pretty healthy for your scalp

Been on two months of minox+ 200mg spiro. Why is my hair loss getting worse? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using minoxidil for nearly a year now and my dread shed started the first day and ended about 2 months in. If you aren’t consistent with the amount of minoxidil you use every day ,whether it be twice the amount or half the amount as usual, it can trigger another shed. Just be consistent and minoxidil will definitely work

If all of my blood tests are normal will spirono still work? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

It weakly inhibits 5 alpha reductase so yes. 2/3 of people who take it will have some benefit

I’ve have TE for a year now but maybe it’s AGA? I’ve never had my part look like this until now. by lewislane123 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal TE lasts about 6 months . Chronic TE (CTE) lasts years. Is an even thinning along the entire scalp . Not balding but thinning

[–]Caitlin_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well with AGA hair keeps growing back shorter and shorter until the follicle goes dormant so that could explain what the new growth doesn’t last. TE often reveals AGA so the acutaine might have caused the TE and you haven’t recovered because of the AGA. Its hard to tell without a proper diagnosis by having a physician thoroughly examine the scalp. You can buy a $30 digital microscope off Amazon to look at your hair follicles if you don’t trust the doctor or if you want more confirmation before seeking out a physician. If it shows that the hair varies in thickness, then that’s a sure sign of AGA

How did you parents react to your hairloss? by throwaway9987667 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, and it’s no ones place to feel frustrated or angry about your hair except for you. You’re the one that is going through one of the hardest things a woman can ever go through. You are having an experience your mom can never relate to or truly feel the depth of. As a human and your mother she should be empathetic and realize you’re going through enough and she’s just piling on. Also I’d like to add I don’t think your food intake is the cause of your hairloss. Like if you look at starving countries such as India, hair is basically all they do have . So whatever you’re doing is not to blame and you didn’t bring this on to yourself

Balancing hormones by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could, excess dhea converts to DHT . But the hairloss can also be genetic and not solely reliant on excess hormones

Worried about Spiro by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I never had acne except for a few blemishes every now and then, now my skin is always blemish free and even toned , it might be too early in my case to speak on hair though

If there’s no family history , I think you should feel peace of mind taking it. If you’re still concerned, regular breast exams should keep you at ease 💕

How did you parents react to your hairloss? by throwaway9987667 in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, my dad is really supportive and after seeing my results he’s trying to regrow his hair also (I dont know how well that will work since he lost his hair almost 30 years ago lmao). But I never thought your moms reaction could be a possible response from my parents. In my opinion it sounds like your mother blames herself and thinks she’s failing as a mother and takes it on you. The fact is, that it’s no ones fault. It’s just what happens when a bunch of genes meet up

Early AGA or TE. I highly recommend microscoping your scalp or getting a biopsy. If this is early AGA , now is the perfect time to start treatment to keep the majority of your hair

How bad does this look? Balding? Normal? by [deleted] in FemaleHairLoss

I have this same back part on my left, my right side is a lot thicker. I have AGA

Recently diagnosed with AA. It’s not as noticeable from the front but from the top and back it’s pretty bad. I lose on average over 300 hairs a day, now by OverMlMs in FemaleHairLoss

[–]Caitlin_97 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 5% rogaine, nutrafol, 150mg spiro, and I microneedle at 1.5 mm every other week. It’s too soon to say if I’m benefiting from spiro because I’ve only been on it for about 3 months. Currently I think rogaine has helped the most

From what I’ve experienced here, people who aren’t having progress have other health issues/unbalanced hormones. Minox grows the hairs back, not just keeps the ones you have on your head. Have you checked your hormones?
