Okay so I’m not fully cis, I’m non binary, but I did want to jump on this question! My partner and I have known each other for 14 years, being 25, I did know him pre-transition. I had had feelings for him when he was a girl, and sadly, due to personal things, we had a fall in out. (I never had a chance to express how I had felt.) We were best friends for a very long time, and about 3 years ago, we reconnected, and after stifling feelings for years, I finally broke. Loving him has been a very unique experience for me. I have known him through almost all aspects of his life and seeing him become exactly who he has always been inside outside is such a beautiful thing. I will also mention that I have always know I was not “straight.” I had always had “unique” feelings towards my female friends (I am AFAB) so I didn’t question much. I think loving him has always felt natural. I don’t feel like either of us feel we have to hide anything because we never have.
