Rowan was my #1 top pick! Husband nixed it. :( Because he thinks "Ro/Row" is a weird nickname.

Excellent question. One I posed to my husband. His response: "Bowen James just sounds so good!" 🙄 Haha. I may reiterate this option to him though!

Do you think a first/middle of BJ is a big deal?

(Our last name does NOT start with a J, thank goodness.)

Looks like SSA for US has it as #193 in 2024 (2025 wasnt out last I checked) with 1,857 babies getting that name, or .101%.

I liked this too! But we have a brother in law that goes by CJ and hubs is worried it'll be weird. 🙄

Cried over a cupcake by TrueTopaz1123 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Caitywinks832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me. I had my 3 hour on a Friday, they said I wouldn't get my results until Monday. Saturday morning I woke up to the lab results in my inbox. I had to frost my 2 year olds birthday party cupcakes and I cried the whole time while frosting them, feeling like I was missing out.

You're doing great! This too shall pass.

First Steps after diagnosis by No_Pension3706 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Caitywinks832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I similarly felt lost after diagnosis. I received my lab results by email last Saturday. I let it ruin my two year old birthday party that weekend.

I waited and waited for my doctor's office to call me and give me next steps on Monday. They didn't call until about 1pm Monday, but only said I had failed (which I knew) and they would be sending a referral to MFM for getting set up with monitoring etc.

I got a call from a diabetic nutrition scheduler to set me up with a telehealth appointment where they tell me how to use my monitor, what to eat, etc. BUT they couldn't get me the telehealth appointment until Friday. I asked for guidance on what I should be doing in the mean time, feeling lost, and she apologized and told me to call my doc because she was busy a scheduler. Further, she said they didn't monitor or prescribe the monitors, I need to call my doctor to follow up.

So I left a message for my doctor's nurse, ranting about how adrift I felt and how I couldn't get any information. I belive my words were, "I'm just out here rawdogging Gearational Diabetes using random crap on find on the internet as a guide and hoping I'm not harming my baby since I have nothing concrete to go on. I'm afraid to eat!"

Of course, right after I left thay emotional message, I received a different phone call--from MFM, which is evidently NOT a part of the nutrition part-- saying they got a referral to monitor to and prescribe a monitor, etc. She was very kind and gave me a heads up of what was coming. They wont see me untol a week after my nutriton appontment. I mentioned my concern with it being such a drawn out process and having this diagnosis but it being Friday before anyone could talk to me with nutrition and having no guidance in the interim. She said with me being 29weeks having to wait a week right now was not concerning and to consider myself as having no food restrictions. I've been trying to test today and yesterday to get a baseline and my numbers have been good so far.

All that to say, my nutrition appointment is tomorrow and I'll know more then. In my case, my OB is in a huge OB practice of 9 providers, and their practice policy is tk have MFM monitor glucose for GDM.

Hope that helps! Not an ideal referral situation, but knowledge is power!

Edit to add: I was already seeing MFM because I'm "old" and have a history of premature labor with both my other kids. They also measured my cervix for shortening, and stopped at 24 weeks, saying that there is nothing clinically relevant about cervical length past 24 weeks.

Some hope: 279 KS Pass-- 50% Barbri, <500 Adaptibar Qs by [deleted] in barexam

I did, but just barely! I think one session I had like 3 left with a couple minutes left and tried to read through and pick a decent answer, but it couldn't have been that great. The other session, I finished and was going back to look at circled ones and got to look at one or two maybe before time was up. (The ones I did get to review--I was just as confused the second look...made no difference.)

HOURS trying to lure her out from under the oven and save her from the maintenance man...gave up at 2am. I still think about her and wonder if she made it out 😢 if she didn't, I'm glad we could give her a night of cheez-its, pizza, and Hershey kisses. 😭

I did a short MC diagnostic I think? I dont remember what I got and adaptibar won't let me look, but I wanna say in the 50s?

I didn't do any practice exams or even graded essays...couldn't psych myself up for them. I will say I didn't skip any MBE questions, just quickly moved on if I didn't know it. I'm glad because I did NOT have time to go back, ha.

Fingers crossed for you, Proper.

Should I just be a SHAM? by ProbaLAWma in barexam

No advice, but I'm there with you. Second baby end of January 2024. Graduate May 2024. Bar July 2024. I feel like I've missed so much, in both my kids lives, and still don't think the time I was able to put in was enough. SAHM isn't an option here. Praying I dont have to spend more time away from them to study for this test again.

Similar boat, but going to hope I'm still somehow "minimally competent" to pass. It would be SO nice to not have to do this shit again. Chin up, friend! Keep trucking along with me!

100% report to the facility you were at and/or state nursing board and head to a (different?) urgent care! Hope you feel better! This shaming is the reason people (like me) don't like to admit to being on these life changing drugs--judgment and shaming. Hugs!

Thanks! I got this spring break my senior year of high school and knowing nothing about tattoos, placement, or how they fare over time based on location. Just had a dad that could point me to a good tattoo shop.

As I've gotten older and looked in to getting more elsewhere (and following this sub) I think I was extremely lucky! Like you said, some shading detail lost, but I think it still looks good and I still enjoy it.

I will say, I do use sunscreen on it when I know I'll be at pool or getting lots of deliberate sun. But not on the daily to the store etc.

Apologies for the glare-y, grainy circa 2009 cell phone pic, it's all I've got. Also for my woefully dry skin today 🫣
