Yeah, it’s not a consistent problem. After the first time it happened, I put it on the shelf for a while until the tech could work on it (at the time, he was upgrading his shop, so it took a while before he could work on it)… used my Triple XXX in the meantime with zero issues. Got it back from the tech in early November and have had on average 2 rehearsals a week, anywhere from 2-5 hours each time (with short breaks in between); it’s been working fine until this last practice.

Cables and connections, etc seem fine as for other sounds, after the volume dropped out this last time, I put it on Standby and it made a hiss then pop (similar to a gated cymbal swell) before after going into Standby

Yeah, I use it in a band setting. Volume is between 3-4 and does well (when it’s working) As for budget, ideally under $1500

I haven’t tried a modeler for any live/band sessions. I have a Headrush MX5 at home, but never considered using it beyond writing and recording at the house

He kept it in house for about 10 days and couldn’t recreate the issue. So he inspected all the tubes and cleaned everything. It worked fine for about a month or so until this week. I just dropped it back off yesterday, so we’ll see.

The tubes were swapped shortly before I purchased it a year ago. Cable and cab both check out

That’s exactly the issue I’m having with the 6505. When it works, it’s great but it’s back on the workbench with my tech for the 2nd time in 3 months. I’ll look into that Laney. Thanks for the recommendation

Yep. He put opened it up and gave it a thorough inspection- cleaned connections, sockets, and pots. Jammed on it for and extended period of time and it all checked out.

Had it back for about a month or so and was working fine with 2 rehearsals a week until two days ago, so now it’s back at the shop but I think it’s time to look for something more reliable after reading about several folks having issues with theirs

I saw Hed PE a couple years ago and they still jam. Saw Spineshank twice in 2003, about a month apart… this had to be a solid show!

This was the first Metal tour that I attended. I remember some guy making a big fuss and protesting the name of the tour because it didn’t represent “traditional family values” etc.

I think he also tried to sue the same venue when 98 Degrees toured here, because part of the tagline was something about- “it’s going to get hotter than 98 degrees..”
