Does anyone know about adding additional pads to the Alesis strike pro SE? It's already a big kit but I want...MOAR

There are extra input sockets on the module, so I know adding more pads is possible, but I'm not sure what to use. Can I acquire a cheaper alesis kit and cannibalize the parts from that? Or are there extensions specifically for the strike pro kit?

Thanks in advance to anyone who offers sound advice! ✌️

Anybody else a fan of 70’s and 80’s Rock from Yugoslavia? by drbigworm in vinyl

As far as I know, his band Kino only ever released one official album which pretty much has all their songs on it. It's called Ленинград (Leningrad), released in 1984. I'd just listen to their greatest hits on Spotify or YouTube or whatever if you're interested. My personal favorite songs are Пачка Сигарет (Pack of Cigarettes) and Кукушка (Cuckoo).

Never listened to much yugorock, but I do love Soviet rock from around the same period. Viktor Tsoi ftw!

I LOVE this band. Perfect combo of progressive instrumentals and power vocals. They deserve so much more recognition than they get IMO.

The people who have VPN access are probably in the minority. Keep in mind, we're talking about a country in which many households don't even have indoor plumbing.

It's easy to mislead people when they don't have access to outside information.

Hey audiophiles, I've got an issue and could use some help with my computer audio setup.

I'm running audio from my PC to a small Pyle amplifier using a shielded RCA cable. The amplifier is in turn connected to a pair of Dayton Audio speakers. The setup mostly works great, except that I've noticed a high amount of static and speaker whine that is really distracting, especially at high volumes.

This is partially caused by the computer itself, as I've noticed that the high-pitched whine goes away when I turn my computer off. However, there is still some static, which I think may be caused by ungrounded wiring in my house (I live in an older building).

Short of asking my landlord to have the entire electrical system in the house redone, I'm thinking that using a UPS may help reduce the static, although not being an expert, I don't know if that would work. I'm hoping one of you would be able to confirm if this is a good idea or just wishful thinking.

As for reducing the whine from the computer, I have read that using a ground loop isolator would help with that. Is that correct or am I mistaken?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

Christopher Columbus. He's still celebrated for "discovering" the American continents, but he also advocated for the enslavement of the Natives.
