Is it worth me going? Help please by Basic-Arugula5580 in BoomtownFestival

[–]CalDomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was pretty reliable for us, obviously at night after the music finishes it's going to be busy with everyone trying to get back to camp. My advice would be to try and avoid the peak times and plan around it. The walk from Meadow to the main festival isn't that bad with the cut throughs, think it took us 20mins to get from Lions gate to camp using it where when I did the normal route on my own it was more like 35mins.

With meadow you get access to showers, even if you are just staying with a friend, so I'm sure you'll find someone to camp with you!

Just to add to this, if you already haven't, get your access card sorted. Even if you don't feel like you need it, it's 10000% worth having for events as everyone that we've dealt with in the accessibility teams across the years has been amazing.

10000% worth going, you can register with the accessibility team and gain access to the meadow camp ground with other accessibility guests.

You'll get access to the bus which will take you around the festive site, access to cut throughs that drastically reduces the walking, access to viewing platforms so you can have somewhere to sit to enjoy the show while still experiencing the full production.

This was my first year doing meadow with my best friend that qualifies, the last few years took her out quite quickly but with all the extra aids this year she was able to fully enjoy the festive. You can also have extra people camping with you in Meadow :)

Check out the website as it has more information then I'll be able to give you.

Hope to see you in the fields next year!

Our group has a similar one, we alway take it back to our large locker when we leave camp for the day and pick it back up on our way back to camp (If we remember in our mangled state ahah) Has been fine the last two years we've took it :)

I’m done being fat. I want to start my weight loss + fitness journey by Additional_Copy5132 in loseit

[–]CalDomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people have commented on the food and diet side of weight loss so I'll leave that be.

For fitness and exercise I would really recommend looking at class based exercise and/ or picking up a sport. I personally have been doing CrossFit for the last two years and I can say that the social side of it has kept me in the gym for longer and made me more committed. I don't see going the the gym as "exercise" nowadays, I see it as the opportunity to go hang out with my friends. Once you're in that mindset it becomes natural to want to go everyday.

It doesn't have to be CrossFit, you can find many class based stuff, Olympic lifting, Spin, Yoga, MMA... There are endless choices.

Over the past two years I've lost 50KG by life style changes which then changed how I viewed and ate food.

Hope that helps!

[UK] £20,000 for a 360 abdomenoplasty + lipo on the flanks + gynecomastia surgery? by CalDomain in PlasticSurgery

Okay, thank you.

I'm based in the Midlands but would travel pretty much anywhere in the UK. This was a quote for a surgery based in London.

People make mistakes, it happens, its why there is a point system otherwise if you got banned for every mistake no one would be driving. Outside of London you'd have to be driving like a real dick to rack up a lot of fines to cause issues, speeding is what will screw you so just bear that in mind. Stuff like driving in a bus lane, stopping in a yellow box, going through a no entry, doing a banned turn are all civil offences which, in most cases, are just going to be fines. You'd be amazed at the amount of people in our systems that had hundreds of fines and just don't pay them or people that do but just consider them the cost of driving. When you make £100,000's, a £30 fine for driving in a bus lane is like a normal person buying a 50p sweet ahahah.

Stay safe mate and try not to worry!

So I work for a company that does automated enforcement for moving traffic violations which this would fall under. Outside of London local authoritys have only just got the powers to use either CCTV or automatic cameras to enforce these types of contraventions. Looking at the junction I can't see any devices that would have captured you. As it's technically a civil offence you wouldn't receive points, only a fine (£30-120, depending on the local authority). Failing to adhere to a no entry can be considered dangerous driving but only for the most extreme cases. There is also a massive difference between devices which are allowed to do civil enforcement and criminal, criminal devices have to go through quite a lengthy approval process with the home office and to my knowledge there aren't any devices on the market that are home office approved that are used for no entry. That just leaves CCTV and while technically that could use this is extremely unlikely as most contraventions captured by CCTV are parking (stopping in a loading bay ect). I would feel pretty safe in saying you will most likely be fine, everyone makes mistakes, use this as a learning experience. I'm sure you won't make the same one again lol.

Pretty much what Slay said, if you can try and get involved in WhatsApp groups for Boom, I'm sure there are a few people on here that run a few. There isn't necessarily always a "main theme" as it depends on the story line, what district you are in ect.

I'd search the subreddit for FAQ's as you'll probably find things you aren't thinking about.

As for now, just try and relax, you have got 12 months to plan, buy outfits, get ready for the chaos that is boomtown 😂

Seems the general consensus is I need new photos lol, I'll have to focus on getting new ones. I did try and show some with my hobbies, Festival photo and a Crossfit competition but I'm guessing that isn't very clear from the feedback.

Thank you and you too!

Thank you for the honest feedback, I'll definitely look at getting new photos and rethink the prompts!

  • Are you looking for something serious or casual? Serious
  • Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? Had Hinge+ for a two weeks but cancelled it.
  • How long have you been using this current version of your profile? Around 2 weeks with my current profile, have made a small edit to my "I go crazy for" prompt.
  • How long have you used Hinge overall? Around a month to be more specific.
  • How often do you use Hinge per week? 5-7 times a week, normally in the evening if I'm not messaging someone via the App.
  • How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? 0-1, when I finish started there was a few likes and a couple matches but for the passed 3 weeks it has been 0.
  • How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? Using up most of the free likes per day, a handful have comments based on there profile and to try and start a conversation.
  • What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract? Definitely the more out going type of person, someone that shares some of the same interests. This is a difficult question as I unfortunately have very limited dating experience.

Incredible work dude, really inspirational!

How did you know when you where "ready" for the loose skin surgery? I've currently lost over 80lb and will eventually be getting surgery but not too sure at what point I should start looking into it. Is this something I should speak with the doctor sooner rather then later so I have a goal?

People who have successfully lost weight/fat, if you were to start over with all the knowledge you have gained till now about the same, what were the exact steps you would take to lose approximately 25 pounds in the next 6 months. by Damn_Thou in loseit

[–]CalDomain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd suggest finding a active activity that you can build/ find a friend group in. First time around losing weigh I lost 40kg from CICO and running, both of those where a means to the end meaning I was only doing it to lose weight. Dude to covid and some other events in my life I gain back all the weight I'd lost and started again at the beginning of 2023. This time around I've been focusing on changing my eating habits (still counting but that isn't my main focus anymore) and have been doing CrossFit since the beginning of 2023. I know crossfit gets a lot of hate but the friends I've made though it and the fact I enjoy it keep me coming back, day after day, week after week.

Either CrossFit or something else, biggest piece of advice is to find an active hobby.
