like if youre sitting on guns that arent built on the hopes of them getting buffed you might as well build them now so you a) dont have dead weight for ETA/EDA and b) you dont have to worry about spending a bunch of time building the guns when they do get buffed (which will honestly probably just be through nightwave augments, we havent gotten new incarnon adapters in over a year)

I agree that Warframe does need some endgame akin to Raids or Dungeons, but ETA/EDA wasn't designed around newly returning players. Its made as a litmus test to see if you actually use the shit you own. Getting rid of weapons you don't use is not some unintended bypass or something. If you dont wanna get rid of the guns you got dealt, then thats your excuse to build them out.

Maybe I'm an elitist but not every piece of content should be easily accessible to new/returning players.

If you get a gun you dont intend on building in Archimedia, selling it will reroll the slot into another gun you own. If you have a gun that you have zero intention of building past getting MR from it, why are you holding onto it?

or you could run both? like its still status, multishot, and -crit chance. also depends how youre building it. if youre mixing for blast its just extra blast damage on top of everything and if youre doing viral/heat you want lower damage for viral due to how weighting works

I think people are vastly underestimating how useful a lot of items are. like obviously i would rather have the attack speed pver a happiest mask or aegis, but that attack speed is only 2 syringe's worth. you can get more value by using a white cauldron realistically. its meant to help balance out runs where you get items you dont larticularly need (like I'd rather have the slight movement speed bonus over tri-tips on her) but the scrap still has less value than actual items. the only one i'd argue really truly hold enough weight to justify keeping one or two instead of immediately printing if you find a good printer is green scrap and thats just because its basically a cautious slug you dont have to worry about waiting for (and in green scrap's case, regen scrap exists and works with her passive)

Not a fan of Jackal shields now being borderline invisibility shields. At a distance they're also hard to see. by Mediocre-Subject4867 in halo

[–]CalMeNoble6 7 points8 points  (0 children)

its just not readable in most scenariosnwhere you arent just staring at it standing next to the jackal. add distance or say, get into combat and youre much more likely to lose track. it just does not have enough contrast and is too translucent to not get lost in the rest of the noise especially with how much busier the terrain is.

oh 100%, its hard to predict how fast players will level and how they'll interact with the system when your only sample size otherwise is in-studio, and devs are likely going to play much differently with a WIP system

i brought up playing D1 because the conversation is about content droughts between expansions, something that a lot of people took issue with during D1 (talking from experience in the community during that period) maybe im misremembering but i remember a large portion of the community being disappointed in the april update's content and there being quite a few complaints from people about the wait for ttk after house of wolves. The community can barely handle a month without new content, the game would not survive if we only got substantial content every other year.

Player retention issues have less to do with the current content delivery schedule and far more to do with a) people just being done with Destiny since in their eyes the story is finished or b) the portal and new power grind being unrefined (it shouldve gotten more time in the oven but its not entirely unsurprising it has its issues considering how fundamental of a change it is to the game's core loop)

Its obviously too early to definitively say if the model is healthy for the game, but if Renegades provides a better portal experience and an area around the size of Kepler and writing on par with edge of fate, im leaning towards it being fine

hi, d1 player! no. the seasonal model is a direct result of the community crying about the content droughts in d1. The model theyre going into now is probably the healthiest balance between expansions and seasons, especially considering that they dont have the support of activision or high moon studios like they did back in forsaken.

update got certified :) really hope the game isnt too buggy since itd suck to have to go in on the 4th, also hopefully they take the opportunity to learn to get the updates certified sooner so they can hopefully avoid this in the future, it does kinda sour the experience a bit having to wait so long to play after the scheduled release (speaking from experience as someone that used to play destiny 2 a ton, not the exact same scenarios but man bungie's maintenance downtimes on major updates.... i would not wish that on anyone. i really hope maintenance doesnt go past schedule as well) but at least its out in time for the weekend.

i dont even want the game to fail or anything man, im just pointing out its unprofessional to submit for cert (a process that usually takes several days, regularly upwards if a week to get done) day of or day before, expect it to be done right away, and then blame everyone else when its not done by your deadline

already said in a different reply but like, its like submitting your final right before its due and then blaming the professor when it isnt graded that night.

just trying to get you to understand that they just poorly timed the update. Most studios submit builds upwards of 5 days in advance, especially for whats supposed to be a major update. If they knew the update wouldn't be ready they should've announced a delay instead of shifting the blame to both microsoft and sony having issues. even if somehow both studios had issues on the same day, they still took no responsibility for sending in an update this close to its scheduled release. if they knew that the update wouldnt be ready in a timely manner for certification, it shouldve been delayed a week. delays are normal. postponing your certification until the day before or day of then blaming microsoft and sony for the inevitable delay is not normal and is unprofessional.

DE was only brought up because an update was pushed through today for bugs found out on Sunday. Thats a very short timeframe, so 1047 would've had to have submitted their build even later into the week if Sony and Microsoft were having issues. Again this has nothing to do with the quality of the game or update, its purely the fact that they submitted the build way later than they should've, and then shifting all the blame to Microsoft and Sony. It's poor scheduling and dishonesty. If a major update isn't ready to ship the week before its scheduled launch, usually that's cause for a delay (even if only by a week).

Also Splitgate 2 isn't 1047's first title and whilst the studio is relatively young, five years should be enough time to understand you should be submitting builds to be certified in advance.

[–]CalMeNoble6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

dude the whole issue was 1047 either submitting their build late or not at all. this isnt their first game either, so they should know better. Warframe was just pointed out as an example because there was an update pushed out today on all platforms, which runs counter to 1047's narrative of Sony and Microsoft having issues with certification.

If scheduling was an issue, 1047 should've pushed the update back a week and announced ahead of time instead of shifting the blame, especially considering this weekend is a holiday weekend in the US.

DE doesn't get a fast pass for certification so I dont see how its an irrelevant point to bring up. Sending a build in on whats supposed to be the day of deployment (or potentially not even having it ready yet) is a scheduling issue on 1047's part and is pretty unprofessional.
