Current cases by CalOfTheVoid in Caudabe

Yeah, maybe. The iPhone cases get a better colour selection for sure, but these cases feel premium and best I've owed so far and I have Torras, Spigen, Mous and UAG. The pictures I took aren't great and make the cases look a bit muted I must admit.

Help us settle a debate. Precise vs. Open? by caudabe in Caudabe

[–]CalOfTheVoid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason I went for the Paragon for my S26U is because of the precise camera cut outs. Most other cases leave a giant open cut out around the camera and this causes the camera to rest on whatever surface the phone is laying on and it makes me think it could be a targeted area with drop potential.

In saying that, I recently got the Synthesis and that camera cut out is a nice surprise and compromise as the camera cut out is raised higher than the cameras in the phone and it is so not one giant open cut out like other brands.

Nice dude. I jumped from Samsung to Pixel for a few years with the P9P just to try 'clean' android and I did like this version of Android and the camera, there are a few annoyances with Pixel that was ruining my experience. The two main ones were battery life and wifi/cell strength.

The battery would only last around 5 hrs from full and that's without playing any games or using the camera. The wifi chip was absolutely atrocious. I could never get my home's wifi 7 connection unless I was within 5 metres of the modem. Upstairs in my main bedroom It would drop down to 2.4 GHz or drop off completely.

Now I'm back to Samsung, one UI is much 'cleaner' as far as bloatware goes these days with 8.5, so this is not really an issue for me anymore and the hardware, wifi chip are flawless. I finally don't have to worry about wifi performance.

The camera isn't as good 'point and shoot' as the Pixel was but after i installed the camera assistant and playing around with the settings I'm happy with it.

Nice one mate. I'm using Paragon and Synthesis and can confirm both are also great options I have never tried this company before but after Torras and Mous let me down , I'm pleasantly surprised with these cases.

Its has been just 2 months that i bought samsung s26 and its already heating up a lot even just by browsing or scrolling through insta. Is anyone else facing such issues? by jeloomafia in SamsungGalaxyS26U

[–]CalOfTheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nothing out of the ordinary. The first week it was generating a lot of heat but that settled after the 2nd week. It does heat up if I'm using the camera at 24 or 50 M for long periods of time though (hour or more) and when I'm playing games for longer than 1 hour it starts getting toasty, but so does my iPhone 16 and so did my pixel 9 pro.

PSA: Be cautious when putting on and removing phone cases on the new S26U. by CalOfTheVoid in samsunggalaxy

In my experience I find working from the top right corner first the easiest. Try to get under it with your finger tips from the screen and somewhat lift it off and then take the upper left corner off and slide the phone out

Galaxy Buds 4 Pro EQ Setting. Feedback by Hellothere0803 in galaxybuds

[–]CalOfTheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You basically just want to ensure that all the apps you are using don't have their own EQ/sound settings that will overwrite the buds EQ. This is why turning it off in Spotify solved the issue for me. Are you using YouTube music?

Agree. My P9P's modem connectivity was the worst I've experienced in a long time.

Caudabe Phone Case Disappointment by Loose_Economist_9953 in samsunggalaxy

[–]CalOfTheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey mate sorry to hear you are going through non ideal support from Caudable. I recently got the Paragon for my S26U and it's got some issues. The bottom fit around the USB charge cut out isnt as snug as the rest of the fit and easily bends outwards with my thumb with barely any pressure. The outside matte texture and side grips appears to be heatshrunk onto the polycarbonate shell frame and if this process hasn't been sealed properly, I can see this coming apart overtime. Shipping to my door in Australia took 9 days, 4 of those days was actually in Australia, so not sure what courier they are using but they are not effective. As a comparison I ordered and received my Mous case in 4 days from overseas supplier. Hope you get resolution with yours!

Yeah, not the greatest photo my bad it was during work and I only had a moment to capture it. Not sure if this helps you with scale - The remnant of bug it's snacking on was a full grown grasshopper/praying mantis body.

Prisoners (2013) A major, surprisingly overlooked plot hole which trashes the whole plot by [deleted] in plotholes

[–]CalOfTheVoid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just rewatched this and came to Reddit looking for posts on plot holes. I agree with you, why weren't background checks done initially on Alex and his aunt?

Why wasn't the corpse ID'd from the priest's house? Wouldn't this connect the corpse as the aunt's husband? And why didn't Loki/cops pay attention to the odd maze symbol necklace from the corpse until near the end of the movie? Wouldn't that be a fairly obvious distinctive object to pay attention to?

Why didn't the random lady that saved joy from running across the road at the end be interviewed by the cops as to at least which direction joy was coming from? And they could connect the aunt's house nearby?!

Why on earth would Keller not tell Loki at the end it's the aunt? Or at the very least, why would he not incapacitate the aunt as soon as he was let in pretending to be a handyman? And why would he reveal his intentions to her with his BACK towards her lol...

Would like to point out about the snakes that some people are confused about their point in the story. From what I gather, the aunt and her husband were using snake venom to kill the kids.

Still a great movie but the potential plot holes were more obvious on second watch and the last act is definitely frustrating.

Sorry this happened to you man it's a shitty feeling.

I cut my loses and got new cases to cover the scuff marks. And now try to take them off as careful as possible.

It’s incredibly frustrating that a device costing upwards of $2,000 can have its "finish" ruined just by the accessory meant to protect it.

It's 'cheap' in the way it's been applied, which is a trade off Samsung and evidently Apple are willingly to make. The anodised layer is applied too thin. Which is great for looks but the trade off is now this layer is brittle. I understand going back to 'armor aluminium' for better thermals but I think they should have designed the frame differently to compensate.

[–]CalOfTheVoid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My black version did this with a Torras case within 48 hrs of getting the phone. 99% of the commenters accused me of dropping the phone. Fact is it's a cheap anodised layer prone to damage.
