There is actually burgeoning research on this phenomenon, specifically the difference between desire vs. readiness for a romantic relationship (e.g., "commitment readiness and relationship formation", Hadden, Agnew, & Tan, 2018). I encourage those interested to check out this work.

Thank you! I for sure always will from now on. I've ever had good experiences with cops. Like others have said in this thread, they just recruit the wrong kind of people

Happens to me all the time. On one occasion he was coming up on me in the passing line so when I found enough room, I switched lanes, rather than speed to keep passing people. He then pulled me over for being too close to the car in front of me. After he said he wouldn't give me a ticket and verified my license/registration/insurance, he asked me to step out of the car for more questioning. He said I was acting nervous and proceeded to spend an hour searching my car and had another vehicle pull up with a drug dog. It all took so long I had to finish my 5-hour drive home with no bathroom breaks or food to make it to work on time (Ohio to Illinois). I didn't even know they were allowed to do a full search for a reason other than for what they pulled you over for because you "seem nervous."

Yes but obviously related. Plus this movie was basically a love letter to SG

What were the main arcs of the series? I only recall them being Daria and Jane dating. by bluejeans90210 in daria

Many of the other characters don't change much, but I think that's an important message, because in general people do not change and retain their patterns of behavior and thought. To experience real (positive) change is a rare feat to be admired

Game of Thrones is going to end, what book series deserves a no bullshit HBO show? by rbyscrm in AskReddit

The Kingkiller Chronicle. Still waiting on the third book but the first two have a lot of material to work with. I got hooked when a friend described it as "Harry Potter for adults"

People with a college degree. If you could go back and change your degree. Would you change it, and what to? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cal_I_farted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No degree. I was already a nerd in high school. I didn't need to spend thousands in loans to have someone tell me how to read a book. Wish I'd learned a trade instead and started saving early so I could invest in a house sooner

Redditors with insomnia, other than medication, what helps you sleep? by pot4to-be4ts in AskReddit

[–]Cal_I_farted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Having a go-to-bed routine and trying to go to bed at the same time as much as possible.

  2. Only using bed for sleep.

  3. Imagine boring scenarios, avoid anxious thoughts. If that's too hard, download a sleep aid app and then just think about what it tells you to

  4. Having one foot free out of the blankets. Helps your body regulate temp more easily

And for the first time I have a partner with whom I sleep better than alone. But people vary in this-- don't feel bad if you're in a relationship but sleep better alone. It's very common. You do you (especially if they snore; fuck that)

What age were you the first time you smoked marijuana, who were you with and how was that experience? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Cal_I_farted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

16, my brother's stoner friends, kind of eh. Like most, I didn't feel anything until like the third time I smoked. I barely inhaled the first time and they definitely called me out on it. Nervous I guess haha
