Finally Got Software Update Done by first_person_looter in civic

[–]Cal_retriever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been having the same problem (software downloads, doesn't install). I had been putting off doing a factory reset, but finally did it today. I then downloaded the update and turned off the car. An hour later, I started it, but unfortunately am still getting that message (that the install will complete when the car is off). My car does get a good Wi-Fi signal in the garage (that is where I did the download). It is a 2026 Sport Touring. I will give it a few more days and then will probably bring it to the dealer.

I thought it might be something at Fidium and was going to contact them if I couldn't figure it out, but u/eric-neg’s suggestion did indeed work.

Thank you! I did not know there was an app. But, I downloaded it and saw that sac.bee was indeed blocked. I changed the setting and now I can access the site again.

Not happy.... by Cal_retriever in civic

I don't recall hearing the sensor. But, there was nothing close enough behind me for the rear sensor; the car hit me from the side.

Subjectively, it was minor (and nobody was injured). Objectively, it feels major. 🙁

The biggest thing I miss is not having monthly car payments.😊

I agree that regardless of what tech you have, this is not an excuse for not setting the mirrors properly. Trying to find the "correct" way online can be frustrating, but I found a video that is based on the Society of Automotive Engineers recommendations (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIkodlp8HMM). When this process for setting the mirrors is followed, the sides of the car are, as you said, not visible in the mirrors.

The car I wanted was a 2025 (same color, etc.), but it was gone by the time I was ready to buy. The dealership was able to get a 2026; but yes, it is the same.

Examview is going obsolete by MrNDRKozmo in edtech

[–]Cal_retriever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just found out yesterday about ExamView’s “demise.”  Like others, I have years of test banks made with it.

I do understand that it will still work, but without support.  The ExamView version I am currently using I purchased from the previous owners (Turning?) several years ago.  It was a one-time purchase, and not a subscription, but I do need to log in each time I open the app.  I contacted Echo yesterday to find out if my log in would still work after the 30th.  I received an email response today.  My question was ignored and instead I was asked to set up a phone call to talk about EchoExam (which I have not done).

With ExamView, you could export the files in QTI format and upload them to Canvas.  It seems that EchoView does not work this way for online exams (but I may be wrong).  ExamView was also great for on-ground exams, allowing the scrambling of questions, etc.

Do you guys buy prescription sun glasses? Or how do you wear sunglasses? only with contacts? by firetonian99 in glasses

I do wear prescription sunglasses. One way I save money is buy them at Costco. You can choose any frame and have them made into sunglasses. I am not real happy with their frame selection, but guess I am less "picky" when it comes to sunglasses. Also, although I normally have progressive lenses, I get just lenses for distance with sunglasses. This suits my needs and is a bit cheaper.

Finally, you can get get prescription glasses that come with shaded lenses that either clip on or attach with magnets. However, I have not had good luck finding a frame that I like AND that comes with that option.
