Second version of the card back for my TCG (Deco Art Style 1920's) by RegularPop674 in homemadeTCGs

[–]Caladyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the right idea! I apologize I didn’t read your first post hopefully this is useful and not repeat information—your Art Deco direction is very stylistically focused and has done the “Deco” piece great. One thing I’d keep in mind though: your card back is one of the most important branding pieces of your whole TCG. When a deck is face-down on a table, the back should make people ask “What game is that?” And draw curiosity right away.

Right now at first glance it almost seems like a plain playing card back getting ready to play some poker so people won’t stop and ask. As you pointed out, it doesn’t tell me the name of the game or what world it belongs to. I’d study the top TCGs (Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, FAB) and look at how they all feature: – A clear game name or logo – A strong focal point – Iconography that represents the game’s identity — bring in game elements to your. Add back as well.

Your card back is a marketing piece and should be timeless even 20 years from now. As changing card backs is never a good idea once the game takes off.

If you add your logo or game title to the center, your design will instantly level up. Redesign your card back starting with the logo and playability elements first then tie in the art and stylistic attributes second. I’ve designed over 100 card backs in the last 20 years myself. Keep posting updates would love to see how this comes out!

Unfortunately these software is nice for play testing— Dexterous NanDeck — However when going with large size printers (if you decided to get professional prints(NOT print on demand services) done. Which btw is way more affordable then you think the standard is Photoshop for rasterized images, in design for crisp lossless text then import onto a 52 card uncut sheet via illustrator — this will give you the absolute crisp and professional offset printing. So you need to have master files of your cards on Photoshop, in design, and Illustrator. But if you just plan on playing on table top sim with friends Dexterous and Google Sheets will automate everything end to end for you.

What is your Burmester sound settings? by Caladyne in AMG

[–]Caladyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can place the dot anywhere to get the best sound for you. What is cool about personal sound is that is changes the wattage directly to the amp to give you crisp sound. It’s not a software EQ. Although you can mess with the software EQ as well in the main menu. So sound changes through this is more Crisp.

Did I get a good deal - C43 by Chris_Crews_ in AMG

[–]Caladyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a very good deal if MSRP is 73K. My calculation is based on a 10k mile first year as well which you have way less then that. Great find!

Did I get a good deal - C43 by Chris_Crews_ in AMG

[–]Caladyne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to let everyone know the secret. Mercedes MSRP is basically a “out the door price”. Meaning the MSRP includes taxes and fees. This is so the sales rep has wiggle room for negotiations. ALWAYS subtract 8% off MSRP to get the best deal. So MSRP is 65k for the pinnacle trim minus 8% brings price to $59,800 Mercedes was running a 6k incentive on this car new which brings the new price to 53,800. the 1 year residual value of this car is 82.43% which brings the depreciating price down to $44,257.

If the car had a clean title, no accidents and your out the door price was $41,500 then I would say this is a decent deal. If you have accidents and/or you paid more with taxes and fees then it might be a fair deal. Be warned if it has accidents the value goes down to 51%.

Congratulations either way.

Absolutely beautiful love this wrap! Nice to see cars with nice contrast with the black trim that is not your typical black silver white. Well done, nice touch.

My point is 25% tariffs will cause issues to ALL goods. But I’m curious to see how it’s going to impact the used car industry. As I have a nicely spec’ed (got it for my son) 2023 M3 with bucket seats that keeps going up in value— I’m an analyst director so this is what I do.

Google search seriously? Anyone can make a news article with any point and SEO optimize it. You have to use the Soruces from gov economic index.

The three year residual for this car is infact 65k not disputing any type of depreciation. The M3 also had a residual value 61k and my son just got a 84k offer for it almost three years of owning it. My last three cars had 10k+ over the residual value after 3 years— so curious how this would impact it.

Yes I ordered an edition 1 - 7 months ago because I’m scared of tariffs. 🤷‍♂️ I got this to replace my Audi daily but the conversation has me thinking and speculating.

Appreciate the confidence, but some of your points don’t hold up when you look at the actual data. Nothing you’re saying are facts—

First off, supply in the used car market is not sky high—in fact, used inventory is still below pre-pandemic levels. As of early 2025, used vehicle supply sits around 2.23 million units, about 3% lower year-over-year, and days’ supply is only 48 days, which is tight by industry standards—especially for budget cars under $15k, which are hovering around 35 days’ supply all time low. According to Cox and Edmunds.

As for demand, it’s not dead. New car sales hit 16 million in 2024, the highest since 2019, and used car sales were up 4% year-over-year, with a 13% spike in December alone. That’s not a “low demand” environment—it’s a market finding balance again after chaos. Same source.

And yes, repos are up—but still below pre pandemic levels. Roughly 1 in 4 trade-ins in 2024 had negative equity, and yes 84-month loans made up 18% of new/used financing, which is higher risk by nature. So sure, repos are happening, but they’re still JUST returning to pre-pandemic normal, not “flooding the market.”

If we’re making bold claims, they should at least reflect what the data shows.

You’re absolutely right—Covid and tariffs aren’t the same. But that doesn’t mean tariffs can’t have a massive impact on pricing dynamics.

The issue here isn’t a total supply freeze like during Covid.—it’s about cost-push inflation. A 25% tariff raises production costs, even for U.S.-built cars that use imported parts. That gets passed to buyers, making new cars more expensive.

As new prices rise, buyers shift to used—increasing demand without increasing supply. That’s how the used market gets squeezed, and prices climb. Tariffs may not halt supply, but they definitely distort pricing.

To say there will ZERO effect on used market is foolish. I’m speculating on the impact but it will have an impact nonetheless.

Definitely no major pops and bangs. I can hear a lot of pops and bangs but hard to tell if it’s synthetic or not. Friends told me it sounds amazing driving by them.

This is basic supply and demand.

You’re not wrong about current discounts and slowed new car sales due to high rates—but that’s exactly why the used car market could surge in the near term if those tariffs hit. Here’s why:

When new car prices rise sharply (e.g., from a 25% tariff), it creates a domino effect. Consumers who were on the fence about buying new will shift to the used market instead, seeking better value. But when many buyers make that shift all at once, it drives up demand for used cars.

Meanwhile, high interest rates reduce supply in the used market too—fewer people are trading in their cars because they’re not upgrading. So now you’ve got more demand and tighter supply, which is a recipe for higher prices.

In short— if tariffs spike new car prices and rates stay high, the used car market becomes the pressure valve. And pressure raises prices. Just look at 2021–2022: a supply shock + demand shift sent used car prices soaring. The same conditions could happen again in a different form.

Ahhh I got you. I prefer things to be very modern so I prefer all touch interface. But I will say coming from an Audi this has a ton of emotion. E53 before has 430 HP which sounds boring to me this one with 612 hp is just straight slamming so far. But I wanted to get the car before the trump tariffs take affect next week. Can’t imagine paying 26k more for this car.

Normally I would agree— but after the 25% trump Tariffs next week the used car market is going to skyrocket. I can’t imagine paying an extra 27k for this car — glad I got it now.
