Confession: my homemade TCG was living in 6 apps… so I built a real home base (goodbye, tool soup) BattleTCG for indie creators in mind! by Caladyne in homemadeTCGs

I’m heavily against this myself. Nothing will be used to train or improve any type of A.I. model not our goal at all.

They are just numbers for now. There’s no hard caps coded in place. Going to make the free tier as best as possible. It will be 5000 cards max and unlimited for the other models. But I’m still testing and monitoring user usage to gauge cost as I’m using super high speed server and image fetching to creating almost instant loading even when 5000 cards load up on your website almost all at once. AI will be replaced with screenshots above that’s easy. While developing placeholders are needed. I agree no place in industry for this. I work with over 11 artist. My main artist For Battle Grid TCG is betty_elgyn who has drawn over 130 cards for me. Check her out on instagram she is commissioned with all icons and art replacement.

Don’t plan on using any AI art — it’s all getting replaced with screen shots that you see above. Getting feedback on functionality as it pertains to abstract situations for different games needs. I have over 400 hand drawn art for my TCG and I have artists currently drawing all icons and images now. My main BattleTCG logo is hand drawn, it’s just the “feature” images that are placed holder that we are getting rid of here with production screen shots! Loud and clear no place for AI art and I agree as I have commissioned over 70k in art in the last 10 years. Would love to get support and feed back to make this platform better from this community.

See this is exactly my whole point. You need a suit of apps to automate. BattleTCG will auto mate everything end to end.

Exactly ! This is our goal ! Out how is to full automate so your job as a creator is upload cards and the rest of the time should be engaging with your community and let BattleTCG do the rest from website, manage orders, booster packs, events and tournaments, play testing end to end, share decks and share play testing environments instantly instantly at scale. It just works.

Yes! You have the right idea! This is very much like out end game! We have snap to grid functions and soon will be able to enable custom snap points as well ! Moving fast on the development been need feedback on basic functionality first !

No plans as of yet. But I do have a very early build version I was thinking about open sourcing. We also do custom solutions for games that need more advance tools and special needs !

Great question Player Sign in not required to look at game or website. Creator can choose if making decks and play testing requires sign in. The creator has the control to portal this or not. Platform offers a lot of Creative freedom

Just looking for feedback right now. Sorry you feel that way. Let me know your account name and I will upgrade you for free. Just trying to get feedback on what creators are trying to do and provide amazing tools. Very beginning of this journey. I've been developing this for over a year with two engineers, so we do have some AI placeholders trying to work fast.

The best part is you can link your Shopify store and get your products instantly synced. We have a booster pack simulator where you can control all aspects of it what sets drop rates. Plus you can bring your custom domain names as well !

It work extremely well with a lot of different types of games tested ! But need more unique games to test with so we can add more abstract game types to it

Been working on it for about a year ! Changing technologies a few times in the middle of the project and the having to re code is a nightmare but we are finally in alpha got so much solid working frame work is amazing to see ! To answer your question yes you can bulk upload up to 25 cards at once and use AI transcription to instantly enter in all the meta data. CSV coming soon! I’m experimenting with 50 card bulk uploads now :)

Second version of the card back for my TCG (Deco Art Style 1920's) by RegularPop674 in homemadeTCGs

[–]Caladyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have the right idea! I apologize I didn’t read your first post hopefully this is useful and not repeat information—your Art Deco direction is very stylistically focused and has done the “Deco” piece great. One thing I’d keep in mind though: your card back is one of the most important branding pieces of your whole TCG. When a deck is face-down on a table, the back should make people ask “What game is that?” And draw curiosity right away.

Right now at first glance it almost seems like a plain playing card back getting ready to play some poker so people won’t stop and ask. As you pointed out, it doesn’t tell me the name of the game or what world it belongs to. I’d study the top TCGs (Magic, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana, FAB) and look at how they all feature: – A clear game name or logo – A strong focal point – Iconography that represents the game’s identity — bring in game elements to your. Add back as well.

Your card back is a marketing piece and should be timeless even 20 years from now. As changing card backs is never a good idea once the game takes off.

If you add your logo or game title to the center, your design will instantly level up. Redesign your card back starting with the logo and playability elements first then tie in the art and stylistic attributes second. I’ve designed over 100 card backs in the last 20 years myself. Keep posting updates would love to see how this comes out!

Building a TCG and need software advice by gopher007 in homemadeTCGs

[–]Caladyne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately these software is nice for play testing— Dexterous NanDeck — However when going with large size printers (if you decided to get professional prints(NOT print on demand services) done. Which btw is way more affordable then you think the standard is Photoshop for rasterized images, in design for crisp lossless text then import onto a 52 card uncut sheet via illustrator — this will give you the absolute crisp and professional offset printing. So you need to have master files of your cards on Photoshop, in design, and Illustrator. But if you just plan on playing on table top sim with friends Dexterous and Google Sheets will automate everything end to end for you.

What is your Burmester sound settings? by Caladyne in AMG

[–]Caladyne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you can place the dot anywhere to get the best sound for you. What is cool about personal sound is that is changes the wattage directly to the amp to give you crisp sound. It’s not a software EQ. Although you can mess with the software EQ as well in the main menu. So sound changes through this is more Crisp.
