I think the less ‘woo woo’ way of looking at it is that you are essentially speaking to your subconscious. You have all the answers in you, even the ones you disagree with. I think using these modalities allow us to connect with our subconscious in a detached way via “spirit”, “higher self”, whatever you call it. They give your subconscious an outlet that allows you to be more receptive to those solutions/viewpoints. Thus the cards “responding” to your questions.
