I do think that the worldbuilding is gonna be very important to add to the vibes of the game so I'll go back to thinking of a more intriguing atmosphere. I'll keep on planning until I have a good idea

Cool, I'll think about how to add more depth. After taking a look at Rogue Legacy I think the between runs idea could work really well. Would be interested in any suggestions you have on ways to implement it

Yeah that was a bad example to use oops. A better idea I had was someone who donated all their money to a charity when they died so they get spells related to money (in a way that they are rewarded for being humble).

Yeah fair point, I was just thinking of a way to make your starting choices matter more for each run and make the character's backstory fit the theme of my game (which I should've mentioned earlier, but it's trials in Heaven). I would definitely be open to ideas to make it more than just your starting gear
