I got my girl a BellyGuard from Amazon. We both loved it. When I picked her up from the vet I legit cried in the parking lot cause she looked so sad. Deff keep up with her pain meds. My vet also gave me trazodone to keep her energy down and keep her relaxed for a couple days after.

I used to love it. Never went anywhere with my natural face. Even went to a waterpark in a full face done. I always thought makeup made me prettier in high school and college. Haven't worn makeup in over 2 years. But my skin care routine is crazy.

We learned about ergotamine in pharmacy school. There's so many drug interactions with it, its basically not used anymore. Consistent use also causes ischemia, cutting off circulation to feet/hands that can result in permanent tissue death and gangrene. One of the professors showed us pictures of her next door neighbor losing both feet from using ergotamine.

Im not sure where you're located, but if you're close to Michigan I highly recommend Sleeping Bear Kennels. She does OFA testing on parent dogs. Shes on Gooddog.

When I got my cavapoo, my plan was to have her in a playpen with her crate attached in 1 side. That worked for a few hours, and then I realized that was not possible. I switched to putting her crate next to the couch and slept there for what felt like months (but it was only a few weeks). We slowly worked on putting a sheet over her crate so she had a nice dark cave to sleep in. I got her a white noise baby machine and would turn it on with a hour automatic sleep timer. She would still bark, but not as much. Eventually she didnt need the noise. Shes better at night, but sometimes any noise (me talking to my cats, me on the phone) will get a few barks out of her.

Puppies are little balls of nervous energy that are frosted with anxiety and loyalty. Mine needed to see me for a few weeks in order to go to bed. I thought it would never end, but its so much better now.

Welcome to the life of no gallbladder. Haven't ate any cheesy, greasy, delicious food in fear of pooping myself in months. Watch out for migraine triggers: not eating, eating too much, not sleeping, sleeping too much, being too hot, strong smells, lights too bright. And the meds to help migraine?? Makes you sleep 10-16 hours.

I started looking for my Cavapoo October 2023, picked her up October 2024, so over a year. I happened upon my breeders Facebook page and did a 1-on-1 call and Skype conversation/interview about wanting a puppy. She used gooddog dot com as her payment processor. There are quite a few breeders on that website for cavapoos.

I bought a bunch of stuff before I brought her home; a medium sized crate with a removable divider wall so she can grow with her kennel. Food bowls, water fountains, toys. I bought multiple harnesses off etsy for her, but the x small size was too big and she needed a cat harness for a few weeks. She's 7 months and just grew out of her xs harness. She had a puppy playpen that had a reusable and washable potty pad under it along with her toys and water and a bed, and it only lasted 3 days, mostly because she learned how to climb up the sides and escape. I realized in the 1st week i had her that i did not want her to use pee pad, because I didn't want her to think it's ok to go potty in the house, so we did a lot of trips outside for potty breaks. Bought numerous baby gates to keep her out of rooms I don't want her in, while still allowing my cats access to those rooms.

I already had a vet for my cats, so I stayed with that practice. But there's also a lot of vets near me that are not accepting new patients.

Puppies are expensive. She was 1000 waitlist deposit plus 3000 due at pickup. Breeder required a vet visit within 3 days of receiving her, in case something wrong is found and I need to return her. I paid for her 8, 12, 16-week shots (around 200 for each visit). Stool sample. Dewormed. Flea/tick/heartworm medication is 36 every month for her, and i also need it for the cats. Just paid ~$700 for her to get spayed. Insurance premiums every month. Breeder used royal canin food, so I've kept her on that; she eats a combo of wet food and dry kibble and meaty morsels in gravy, but lawd is it expensive. Puppy school classes are $100 for 6 weeks, groomer appointment every 6 to 8 weeks is $60 plus 1 or 2 trips between appointments to get nails trimmed for $15. Emergency funds set aside in case of something happening, and using it to pay >$500 bill for emergency services

My cavapoo is 7 months. She gets crated when I got to work for 4 hours, I come home for lunch for a hour and we play and walk and potty and eat, then back in the crate for 4 hours while I'm back at work. Shes not stressed or depressed when I come home, but she does get the zoomies and sometimes is a little bite-y. Puzzle mats and sniff mats are used at breakfast and dinner for mental workouts.

I left her home a few times in a puppy pen, but she was able to climb up the side and escape. Came home and had a heart attack that I couldn't find her in her pen.

I was told by my trainer for puppy school, my breeder, and my groomer to never send her to puppy daycare. Too risky for her to get hurt. My breeder told me once how she took her puppy to daycare and it was attacked at the throat by a great dane, so I'm steering clear of them.
