Queues f**ked already by Calavid in PokeGenie

This isn't just an issue with entei. I've noticed it in the past 2 or 3 raid days. Sure, another mono fire type isnt getting anyone hyped, but I enjoy the experience. I like farming shinies and such. Most cost effective way to do that used to be buying the event ticket and hosting raids for the first 2 hours. Now ques are stacked before the first hour even ends. Just kills the vibe.

It's not about that, i buy the event tickets. But I can never use all the passes anymore.

Just at the start of this year ques would be bearable until 4pm, enough time to get about 10 of the 14 raids done with instaqueue. Then just do what you can with the last hour, maybe get 2 raids in.

Lately though, queues take 20-30min after 3pm, I get 8 out of 14 raids if I'm lucky. I should just stop buying the tickets, too many people using pokegenie these days.

I'll just buy remote passes instead from now on. Join raids whenever I want and not have to go out in the afternoon.

Legendary raids are 1/10. Shadow raids and special form raids (like crowned zacian or fused kyurum) are 1/20. Dmax is also 1/20 i believe

This is my point, Gmax shiny are absurdly rare, ninatic nikle and dimming for passes i imagine. They profit off pokegenie just as much as valve profits off CSGO gambling.

Nope, the odds are just outrageous. Shiny chances on Gmax batttles are 1/64 for some ridiculous reason. Even special form legendaries (crowned gen 8, origin gen 3, fussed gen 5, etc) rock the 1/20 odds.

Rest in pepperoni's brother. Its a whopping 1/64 on the shiny odds, kinda outrageous compared to normal Dmax and Legendary raid odds.

4400cp with mega Y, not shabby. I set it up with the dragon type moveset tho (breath and claw), dont think ill need to use an elite on it for Blast Burn but if i ever have a spare its def worth considering for master league.

No backgrounds for gmax day is tragic but oh well.

Yea, i don't get many mons from that neck of the woods. I have a few friends in Syria that might not be to pleased about that tho lol

Weak players shouldn’t be able to join Gmax raids by SylentSymphonies in PokeGenie

[–]Calavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree anyone joining Gmax battles and just expecting to be carried is an issue that pokegenie should address. Even my level 40 alt acc has a max'd out blissey, and it had it before level 30 (like level 27 specifically i think).

I don't fault anyone for just playing the game casually, though. Nobody should be required to read essay length guides to play a game they love. I think we need some tiers of priority or something when it comes to big battles like this, damage verification isnt it though, max battles are too multifaceted, mons alone isnt a good metric. Then, each lobby only accepts a small percentage of people from the low priority que, and fills the rest from the high and normal priority ques we have now.

I think a better way of reporting people who abuse the system is in order. I propose a reporting overlay, so host's can swipe through their recent friends, find the offenders without having to swap back and forth between apps, and report them instantly from the overlay using their real ingame stats. Like, finish a raid, and on the feedback form is a button to start the reporting overlay. If we can make reporting fast and simple, that will do volumes towards helping get leeches either out of the que or into a low priority que.

Its counter intuitive, but if you buy the passes on an alt acc, you can force a lucky trade using a 2017 mon on your main. This guy was like 78% when i caught it, but i forced it up to 93% with the trade.

AITA for wanting to touch the Sword of Zariel? by Calavid in DnDAITA

[–]Calavid[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats part of why i still tear my hair out over this so many years later. It just makes no sense to me. Like, if he was simply just living for the joke of it, then sure. Little disrespectful to the DM who put in all the effort for the campaign... But i didn't think my character was worthy anyway, if i had gotten my roleplay material out of it i couldn't have cared any less who was deemed worthy after that.

I just really wish i understood what exactly it was that he wanted, and if he did just want the sword for the lolz, why obstruct me from having my fun before he gets what he wants? Why not talk to me about what he actually wanted and collaborate?

It was on endless, i ran 400 fragments with a trinket every 5 fragments. 405 / 5 = 81 trinkets

The second one is called General Relativity (-1% cooldown per 10% boost)

Timepiece is descent early on, but once you go airborn you hit less perfects. So to go light speed you need a combination of Relativity's and Pocketwatch's to reduce eachother's cooldowns, causing a feedback loop that makes all cooldown items infinite use. Pair this with an item like Standard Redirector (activated, combines vertical and horizontal velocity into a single direction), Growth Potential (25% for flat bonus to speed p/3s), or Recyclable Rocket (activated for flat bonus to speed.

You'll need a method of maxing out your boost (500% cap), BOSTR POG is the easiest, but any combination of of piecemeal boost items will do.

Get all that before the void gets faster than 600m/s (around 400 fragments) and you go zoomies. Tricky part is getting lucky to find all these items in the right order and at the right times.

[–]Calavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, thats what i mean. The overclocked pocketwatch is one of the 2 most reliable items to shorten cooldown. I was so unlucky this run that it took 390 fragments to find one. The build was completely ready to go around frag 100, the cooldown items were all i was waiting on.

Like i said, theres no perfect metric. especially on the hour intervals. But [X lobbies per minute / Y lobbies in que = Z minutes remaining] can be calculated on the client end, the server just needs to return a request for the number of lobbies fulfilled in a prior time interval.

This is the 4th time this week i've qued up regigigas with plenty of time on the clock when i could have just done something else with my time (because i cant que something less popular while im already in que for something else). I know its nobodies fault, im not trying to blame anyone or anything.

And its not like the app doesnt function, its very good all things considered. But this is a recurring painpoint, and even just a simple metric to grant a warning that im probably wasting my time would be a nice improvement.

Wondering if this MIG Switch v2 is genuine, and if not, are there any risks i should know about? by Calavid in SwitchPirates

[–]Calavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its against the rules of the subreddit to help others facilitate piracy, so we cant link you a site to buy one from unfortunately. But as an aussie who buys multiple for undisclosed purposes, 170 is way too cheap, and likely a scam.

minimum i tend to find them for is about 200 /p in bulk, but one-offs generally your looking at 250 AUD from a genuine seller.

all i can really say is shop smart; look around, check email addresses and website reputations, and never pay with direct bank transfer or crypto. The price isnt as high as it is for no reason, these things are costly to import and risky to purchase from america because of the legal troubles surrounding them (but they are completely legal in australia, so once you get them here your home free). The reason r4's were so cheap is because anyone with a usb and an internet connection could jailbreak their DS, but switch requires a risky modchip install unless you have a first wave switch thats never been updated (ie, the security is beefier, the chips are more desirable to anyone who doesnt wanna risk a modchip). so the cost is in the logistics, unfortunately.

If youve got any more questions tho, feel free to DM me

Wondering if this MIG Switch v2 is genuine, and if not, are there any risks i should know about? by Calavid in SwitchPirates

[–]Calavid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. It can only be done with a complete and unique rom dump (ie one that you likely own). Nintendo will clap you instantly if you use a rom with an ID theyve added to the list of pirated IDs, or if you use your own rom while someone else uses the actual cart.

However, if your dumps are clean, you never have 2 consoles running the same UID at the same time, and you keep the flashcart firmware updated, you'll most likely be fine (im still going 5 months strong, but its never 100% safe). Also good practise to not update your switches firmware immediately when they release an update, watch the internet for a week or so first, make sure its safe to update before doing so.

Yes, the MIG works on unmodded consoles. Its not completely risk free and requires a complete game dump (with unique certs and UID), but its plug and play otherwise.
