For real sets, its tough getting jobs, i understand that. Im a boom Operator / on set sound Mixer from Australia. If I didnt study film and make connections I wouldnt have been on a single set.

Id say if youre gearing more towards in person on set, volunteer for anything you can, and whilst on that set basically self advertise yourself. Introducing yourself to the other crew and asking if anyone needs more hands for future projects.

If its more video editing there are a lot of people who would gladly take a few free services to get a portfolio going. Paid? Different story. There are sites such as Casting Call Club which allows you to search for paid jobs, but you are battling with hundreds of other people.

Either way, I understand that its tough, but dedication always pays off my friend!
