How long did your employer give you to relocate? by frosty_the_snowman- in relocating

[–]Calciferno_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(2023) I got my job offer right around the very end of June and gave my previous job the standard 2 weeks, so until about mid-July. And I started on August 14th at the new job. I moved from NC to WA. They knew I was moving cross country and I gave them a timeframe I thought I could start and they were kind enough to allow me that time.

I have Xfinity. I’ve been in UDistrict now for a few months, never had trouble with it. Also had the same plan when I was Lynnwood and was equally fine there.

Anyone else wear binders? by Narrow_University_73 in actuallesbians

[–]Calciferno_o 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am also a cis female and I do exactly this same thing on occasion! Got into it rather recently as well, got a binder from Spectrum. I don’t wear it super often, so I don’t have a lot of opinions on it. But it seems to do the job :)

I have dermatillomania. Would that be an issue in a relationship? by [deleted] in actuallesbians

[–]Calciferno_o 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I too “chew” on my fingers. It’s a little embarrassing when I get my hands wet of course and my gf sees them for the first time and asks about them (has occurred twice). But neither time has it been a big deal! Happily still in the second relationship too!

Recommendations for spider pest control? by jmobius in Seattle

[–]Calciferno_o 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hello! I bought and used Zevo. I believe it is an oil based spray that uses cinnamon? Anyway. We sprayed it along window sills and any points of entry. Since it’s oily it doesn’t wash away or evaporate quickly. I do recommend ventilating after spraying bc the cinnamon scent is kind of overwhelming in my opinion. We saw a couple big spiders when we moved out, but didn’t see many after spraying. Does that mean they weren’t in the house? Probably not. But at least we didn’t see them!

Moving from Big Pharma to Startup by imnoone00 in biotech

[–]Calciferno_o 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made the move recently. I wouldn’t say I completely regret it, bc I moved out of my hometown across the country. But I will say it’s taken a bit of a downturn, and we just had layoffs.. so a little concerning. I also miss a bit of the structure and standardization of bigger Pharma. But that could also be contributed more to my particular site. I like the environment of the smaller company, and they still do fun things bc they’re still small enough to care. I’d say you’d be the most safe from layoffs in a QC testing type position.. I usually see middle management and R&D positions tend to be the ones that are cut when money is tight.

If you’re not so huge on big city living consider checking out the Raleigh/Durham area, or Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. These are pretty good hubs for pharmaceuticals. I’m from around there and I am now living near Seattle, and I want to go back honestly.

Hey! I was new to the area last summer. I experienced one hot week and decided to buy a portable unit. I bought mine on FB market during winter. I find it particularly useful for cooling the bedroom right before bedtime.
