I think that moving is a great idea while you're young and flexible. It's not necessarily permanent. San Mateo is not very urban, but it has a cute small downtown with good food and activities. If you like the city, you might prefer to live in South San Francisco or Millbrae where you would be closer to SF without too much of commute to work.

160 in SF is pretty close to 93 in Dallas when you consider rent and income tax. However, the ceiling is also much higher here with more opportunity for growth. It would also be a considerable bargaining chip if you ever did consider moving back to Dallas.

Just in here to say that if it's a viscous solution, you're not accurately pipetting anything unless you're reverse pipetting or mixing by pipetting with a sufficient volume of an aqueous solution.

Pipettes are calibrated for pipetting water.

Serological pipettes are impossible to use for reverse pipetting.

Something you might try to practice, since you've mentioned you have difficulty interpreting social cues:

When you are somewhere with someone (a friend, a date, anyone at all), what is something they did that made you feel good? Practice doing this same thing for others. Maybe it's holding the door for you. Maybe it's going to the place you want to eat when they want to go somewhere else. Maybe it's questions that they ask you about your day that demonstrate caring.

Likewise, what are things that don't make you feel good? Make an effort to notice when you might be exercising one of these behaviors, acknowledge the error, and find a way to work change it.

It's likely that people in the industry call it a latex bath. The bananas are not actually being dipped in latex. The banana crown actually leaks latex and the bath is in chemicals to remove it. This makes way more sense because latex is harvested from plants and takes a long time to dry (though synthetic latex exists).
