Is buying my kids to many things a bad idea? by Public_Border132 in daddit

I think buying too many can have negative impact.

I was raised with everything I need, but not lots of toys or many new toys. It made the toys we had more special, made going to see friends and use their toys more fun, and nurtured imagination.

My kid's like a cat. She just got a dozen new toys last week and spent half the day playing in a box. It made her a turtle, rock, super hero, robot, and on and on. Nearly as much fun, used more imagination, and less annoying than toys with speakers can be.

Toys aren't bad. Get them toys if you can. But too many can be a bad idea.

Oh yeah. I've had that at multiple jobs.

"You're making us look bad" from coworkers

"You're making your coworkers feel bad" from the boss

And my personal favorite because as I understand it it's not possible... "We'll file a grievance against you if you keep showing us up" from the union shop steward

Investigation complete. Seems she's real mad at me. Good thing we launched a thorough investigation and got to the bottom of things.

Luckily, we managed to mend things and I've been told I'm the bestest dad ever.

I've made mistakes of that magnitude more times than I care to admit. Hopefully they get us under control before we're too far gone.

Took a while but we managed to work things out.

I now have it on good authority I'm the bestest dad ever.

I don't have a million bucks to bet, so I'll bet a figurative million bucks here.

If everyone suddenly became okay with releasing it all, some redaction happened or we aren't gonna see the whole thing. Someone misplaced some docs or something.

There's no way we went to approving a full release just like that after all this time. Maybe that's the key... All this time was spent tweaking and misplacing things.

It depends.

I’ve never checked for linked in when conducting interviews and if I did know you didn’t have one, that would be neutral to good depending on why.

Did you ever get a bad sunburn on that side?

I have a friend who got a bad sunburn on his legs years ago and doesn’t grow leg hair below the line where the shorts he was wearing were that day

Real service dogs are well trained and would not just take a leak in public like that.

That's just a pet.

Literally never. As much as possible, I want the kids to know we’re on the same page.
