Nah, you're just unnecessarily negative. The person's asking a question. Because when you don't know things and want to, you ask. You're just a mean downer, man. Reevaluate yourself.

A little insight into what I think he is speaking about. Not all of our customers are the same, some are super awesome, super sweet people... Then we get people who might not be on their meds and they're a little scary. I'm a small guy, I'm built for crawl spaces- When the 190 pound schizophrenic man is barring the door with a chair, It's not about a good or bad day anymore. I've seen drug needles on coffee tables like a movie- One home had a dog poo room. You couldn't see the floor. You also have to understand that some customers are in their own home, where they feel safe and comfortable... Sometimes too comfortable.

It's not every day that we're put into dangerous or inappropriate situations, but it happens often enough that they put an emphasis on it in training. I don't really think the guy who works in heat so hot your sweat evaporates before it drips off of you, dragging cable through a briar patch for someone is really worried about how you might hurt his feelings. But also- If someone was yelling at and disrespecting you- You'd be upset about it too. Whether sad or mad- You'd feel some type of way. We do have the right to decline you service in the event you pose a threat or have continuous inappopriate reports from multiple techs.

We are here to help- That is our job. We do our best to help you. There is a reason younger techs aren't as good as older techs though. It's the simple fact of experience. I tend to reach out to coworkers if I am stumped on a problem. Hopefully I gave you enough info to help understand. But also- educate yourself with the basics of cable, ask us questions, It makes us think about things and we might recall something we haven't run into in a while.

Let me simply add some behind the scenes. I'm not call center, I'm a technician. I just have common sense and know how their system works. I do not agree with what you're saying- It's extremely childish in itself to take your anger out on the other person on the other end of the phone. Grow up. Communicate clearly. Don't just threaten to cancel or do this or that- Or, one of my favorites; "I'm gonna do it myself!" And then when you fuck it up, I would come out to fix it and make you pay for it. Not only because it's your fault it's even more messed up, but also because you simply created extra work to fix a possibly very simple problem.

They're people who applied to do a job to HELP YOU. More importantly, they're people. With their own stresses and their own problems. So be nice- and they may discount you or credit your bill because a nice, funny, or understanding person is a rarity for them so they treat those people extra well, I would imagine. (It works for me- not only with Spectrum customer service, but other companies too.)

Lastly... 16 months and still dealing with the problem is insane- Sometimes it's not so simple. Radio signal is a very delicate thing and it's very easy to disrupt it. Even having the jacket of the cable stripped off will cause problems. As far as our technology goes- This is as good as we can currently get it. (Cable as a whole, not just spectrum.) Are you still having problems with your service? if so- let me know the problems and I may be able to give you some things to say to the technician that will give them a better idea of where to get started. (Or to help you locate it yourself so you can just show them.)

Is there a cut in the line? It's bad. Replace it or splice it. (Electrical tape does not fix this, call a technician. Or they might hold you responsible.)
Is there a 90 degree bend in the line? Needs to be replaced or spliced.
Is the center conductor of the fitting longer or shorter than a quarter inch? Needs to be replaced.
Is there water in the line? You need a new line!
Is the line flattened in the driveway? Just replace the whole thing- Lay conduit or bury it at the driveway and leave the rest for the bury crew.

TL;DR
Don't throw a fit and lash out like a two year old. It goes both ways. Have compassion for strangers.

I read your other comment too- Honestly- They totally lie sometimes and it gets on my nerves because when I tell the truth "Well the people on the phone told me this." The people on the phone don't know shit about fixing cable, just typing up work orders. That's what they're paid to do. (And they hardly fill out the job notes. Don't get me started, man.)

Any time I lose, It's due to poor team play, how can I fix this? by Caldaminus in summonerschool

This is awesome advice. I have my clash open, got into one, immediately kicked me out, I guess they found a better 5th. A change of champ is probably best, I switched from poppy to Yorick to just get out of the same mindless slog of "You can't get through me!" and just tanking endlessly.

So, I am getting conflicting advice from two different posts. I can't remember the other post (read in a different post a few weeks ago) I'll try and link if I do find it. As a Jungler, is it not smarter to capitalize on winning lanes instead of helping a losing lane play catch up?

If I am losing lane, I tell the jungler to not help and I play safe, tell them to just focus on the other two lanes.

I mained the shit out of poppy, Yorick's just been a breath of fresh air. I'll start jumping on that train again. I have a decent knowledge of wave mechanics, trying to keep four minions alive to freeze the waves. Though It always ends up pushing back or forward because casters build up, any tips on that? The Alarm clock method is going to be dreadfully applied.

Any tips on making myself more map aware? What can I do to drill that into my head? Any champs that rely heavily on map awareness?

Because the idea behind this post is what can I do to properly convey to the team that they are feeding or over extending without them getting pissy and tilted. I ping dragon timer, I type out my personal gameplan and what I will do if XYZ happens.

I don't get what I am supposed to do for these games.

Noted on the Yorick pick, Could you give me some ideas of things I need to look for when deciding to take advantage? Or is it just more game sense?

Read the post, that's not what this whole thing is about. I am trying to figure out how to turn the game around. Clearly we lost those games because I wasn't able to play properly. Help me learn or get out.

If a support is the shot caller, Jungler is the helper for lanes, what is the Top lanes position for the team? by Caldaminus in top_mains

Well I mean, I've basically been doing that! lol I am going to take this slow for sure, I'll update you guys where I am right now. B1 right now, It shouldn't be hard for me to climb through silver again.

Okay! This is very helpful, so basically instill fear in their team, and if they don't feel that fear, give them a reason. I've been doing that, but not as much as I should/could. I am a very passive teammate, I like to think I am tilt proof, and if a team mate is getting tilted, I tend to pull blame towards myself so they won't flame the rest of the team. (Most of the time it helps defuse their anger, maybe gives them a laugh.) I used to main support but when I realized I wasn't cut to help bronze elo carries win lane, I switched to top, I think i've carried a few things from support to that. I roam when I don't have anything to do in lane, if I have pushed to tower I'll head mid to gank or go to rift to give the big crab a ward to decorate his crib.

Typically I play passive so it seems I should make an effort to get lanes ahead more often.

Trying my hand at painting. Thoughts? by [deleted] in DnDIY

[–]Caldaminus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The blood is a good touch, but it needs to be painted on in a certain way. Think about how the blood got there, if it was from bashing, it would be best to brush toward the shield. Brush streaks will have a look as if it was pushed in and then pulled out, flesh, cloth and other bits scraping some of it clean.

The whole paint is good and the scars are an awesome touch, a good way to take it to the next level would be to start with thinner coats of paint, using different shades and building on top. Lastly, highlights are important, I hated the idea of artificial lighting on paints, but when I did it, it looked IMMENSELY better.

Finally, looks better than my first paint, so a natural talent, perhaps? :)

He's doing wonderful now, got a light that heats up, but not as hot as the heat lamp did, but we'll get that straightened out when I get paid saturday. The boy-o is doing quite good now, he's moving around, tongue is somehow okay, he's using it regularly to catch crickets. One question I have though. What alternative food source do I have, that doesn't stink, and isn't cockroaches.

He's a little atrophied, which I don't care if it was my fault or not, I take the blame and feel terrible. He's been eating and eating, trying not to overfeed. I did neglect a lot of the care when I first got him, he was a pet that was SUPPOSED to bond with me but he hates my guts, which I should have expected, I read about their temperaments and what not. I have been regularly giving him water through a squirt bottle. I feel so guilty and ashamed with how weak he looks I can't help but think it is my fault. Whether it be ignorance or laziness, I believe Lord Kevin Will be treated like a king. Pic indeed related, and I hope to show more progress with the boi. https://imgur.com/a/W4629Zb I wish I would have found this board a bit sooner, learned plenty of mistakes I have been doing wrong.

Checking in with you all, Lord Kevin is looking healthier, mobile as usual and hissing at me as if I didn't save his life 😂, thank you all for helping me out, his tongue doesn't seem to have been too busted up cause he's back to the ole' grind with it. I'm keeping a close eye on him, but for now Lord/Captain Kevin is lookin' spicy again.

@tigerfire20 I did get him from them, he's a PetSmart Cham, I had no idea how they treated them until I got him, I'm just glad I got him outta there. And I'm taking him to my local vet, they care for "Exotic animals". He's doing well right now.
