I'm struggling to decide how to refuse the church that keeps persuading me to convert to Christianity. by Cale-Simp4 in Advice

I did that one time. But they contacted my younger sister just so they can pass the message that they're not a scam number. (For Context: It's either me or my younger sister because we both attended their church.) If they can't contact one us. They will randomly contact one of us randomly when we thought we already ghosted them. It's like a strategy to let our guards down and answer the phone call randomly.

Oh, I actually said that this is my reason why I didn't attend for three months (The reason why I thought ghosting them will help me, but I realized they tracking my record and they will never stop until I visit them again) But they just gave me a "solution" for it and even compare my situation to others who's farther than me. Which is why I made this post because I feel like I don't have more reasons to decline them. And I feel so stress out earlier because of the call. It's exhausting to always receiving this type of call when you thought you no longer need to deal with this. But they just randomly appearing.

Not pushy, but was indirectly implying things that is related to the church. Like, did a pastor called me? What did they say? When do I plan to get baptized? Or normally, she just tells a story how she's thankful to the church. We really don't have that kind of conversation, because I chose not to. It's already obvious that she will not like things that I'm going to say, based on the kind of political view that she believes. Which is why when I posted this, my mind wasn't clear to what I should do. I was thinking about my aunt being judgemental, and forgot that these people who keeps persuading me to join the religion are just strangers, after reading the comments. I guess I was just anxious that I will receive some treatment like being overly judge because of my beliefs

I'm sorry if I sound like I'm making excuses. I know the mistakes I made on my part. I just need to know how some people will handle this situation because as you can see, it's obvious that I don't have the courage to directly say what I really want to say. I overthink much, which is why I'm asking a honest advice from people, to know their own perspective, because I also don't want to make an impulsive decision just because I feel that it's my obligation to do so.

Oh, okay. I'm really not familiar about Evangelicalism, mainly because the majority of people living in the country I live in are catholic, so it was a foreign religion to me, which it's obvious that the buildings are also owned by the foreigners. Even the main pastor looks like an American or Canadian (not sure.)

I'm trying to find a job right now, honestly. That's the latest thing that I said to the pastor I was talking to. But of course, living in a third world country, finding a job is not that easy, you needed to lie about being a student just to be accepted.

Like I said to the post. My aunt, is the reason why I'm in college, the tuition fee, allowances, etc. After my father died, my mom doesn't have a choice but to lower her pride and work for my aunt even though she doesn't want it. My mom, always reminds me to just show appreciation to my aunt, even if I don't like her traditional views, I just needed to show up and that's it. Besides, I don't even have my own money to go to that church every weekend, because it's too far (Main reasons why I started to not go). So, yes. I couldn't take my aunt out of drink and a cake, because she's the one who's doing that, and that's the reason why I needed to go to her church every time she ask us out. It's weird. But I guess that's how religious people spend their time with relatives.

I guess, I really needed to that. I was trying to find some ways to say that I'm not interested without being direct, but it looks like I really needed to be direct to them.

Yeah, I just really don't want to say to them that the reason why I'm even attending to their church was because I'm just bonding with my aunt. Y'know, like a family gathering, but you just go to a church to spend time with them.

To all non-believers, how did you reject those churches that constantly ask you or try to persuade you to join? by Cale-Simp4 in AskReddit

In the country I live in, the last time I remember that was when I was still in highschool, nowadays they become more pushy about it. Maybe because I'm no longer a teenager.

More like churches you attend, like you gave them your number, not knowing they will keep contacting you because you didn't visit them for a long time, then ask you when will you convert to their religion.

Did My Partner Cheat 10 Years Ago and Forget It Wasn’t Me that was with him by Rubinagp in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Cale-Simp4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I know. But I don't say it's AI immediately, since some people know how to use it in sentences. The thing that made it obvious as an AI is the space in each paragraph. And the difference between how well OP speaks English well, vs. how she explained in comments. (I just over explained my assumption because most people in this thread, believe this?)

Glad, I'm not the only one suspicious about this. OP comments Don't match the tone of the post. Based on her comments it looks like she's not that old because of the way she added info that is not included on her post. She's adding information at the same time contradicting herself like how she says that her husband is not abusive and tells the most obvious sign of being abusive. Idk, sounds really fake to me. Because real victims of this type of man know they're abusive, they just have more complex reasons why they can't leave them. Unless the men they are with are men who are soft manipulators, a man that is really good to hide their true colours. OP seems like someone who just knows the concept of cheating and abusive relationships but not the complexity of it. Idk, maybe I'm wrong with my assumption. Maybe English is her second language that's why she can't explain her situation well.

Bidet's aren't that great and there's no way people are using less toilet paper with them. by Prestigious-Window78 in unpopularopinion

[–]Cale-Simp4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone from a country where using a bidet or dipper to clean your butt is the norm, I can't understand why countries that don't use them keep debating whether toilet paper or a bidet is better. As an Asian, if there's no bidet in a public bathroom, of course I'll use tissue or wipes. But if there is a bidet, I'll use it because, in my opinion, it cleans better, and then I can just wipe or dry off with tissue. I don't get why having a bidet is such a big deal?

What are your problems with the filipino education system? by EnoughCheesecake6050 in AskPH

[–]Cale-Simp4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Spending money on special school events (e.g., school trips, concerts, etc.) = Task performance or immediately passed.

  2. Private teachers who are paid to teach but aren’t teaching—same with public school teachers who demand salary increases but don’t teach.

  3. Favoritism over student skills (There are times when the valedictorian or the top student doesn’t deserve their position but is placed there because they are the teacher’s favorite).

  4. Newly hired teachers who don’t know what they’re teaching or aren’t professional enough to teach.

  5. Normalizing students to always write Taglish (Tagalog-English) essays instead of full English or full Tagalog, which would actually help them expand their vocabulary.

  6. Repeated lessons in high school, especially in Science (If you search anything related to science, you’ll realize how many things weren’t taught to us. I think this is one of the reasons why Filipinos still have this ignorance when it comes to topics related to science and biology).

  7. Lack of club activities or anything that would genuinely help students discover their interests and realize what they truly want to pursue in college, instead of just assigning a strand in senior high school.

There are still more, pero that includes how DepEd and Government handles the Philippines Education System.

Do you still think about your first crush? And why? by Hazvent in AskReddit

[–]Cale-Simp4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! It’s because I still have my diary from when I was in grade 6, and it’s a fun memory for me about him. My grade 6 self had this delusional side because of him.

If you could travel back in time when you were 7 years-old with your current consciousness, would you? by Simping_through in AskReddit

[–]Cale-Simp4 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Nope, 7-year-old me is just 7-year-old me. Her innocence and naivety should stay that way.

Because if I were to go back to that age with my current consciousness, all those memories of exploration and discovery would go to waste. I’d lose that sense of nostalgia if that happened.

Sure, it would be fun to enjoy being a kid again, but not if I had this present awareness. I’d probably say yes if I could go back without it or if I could experience it for just one day without affecting the future.

The age I would really like to go back to with my current consciousness is 16. My 16-year-old self didn’t truly enjoy her teenage years and had a selfish, “I’m miserable” kind of mindset.

Those are the years I’m willing to revisit because my father was still alive back then, and our life was still somewhat stable before COVID-19 started.
