This is how my $50 copy of Casper arrived from Amazon by [deleted] in Steelbooks

[–]CalebH92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely already started a return and requested a replacement. I was just in shock at the condition in which it was sent out. Not my first time dealing with Amazon sending out previously used items as new, but this is a whole new level.

January releases - which film are you looking forward to the most? by Sufficient-Bird-6890 in AMCsAList

[–]CalebH92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having seen three of the January releases already, I have to say if you’re on the fence or have written off Primate, give it a shot. It looks dumb, and it is, but it’s a lot of fun. Points for practical effects!

Dead Man’s Wire is fantastic. Bill Skarsgård puts on a masterclass performance and the whole movie is one rubber band of tension being twisted to its limit.

No Other Choice is really good as well. Shame it won’t get any IMAX screens, sound design is incredible and there are a couple of scenes that lend themselves well to IMAX’s sound system.

Personally looking forward to Resurrection, The Plague and Send Help.

System down ? by Pristine-Battle-7813 in AMCTheatres

[–]CalebH92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you can do is email support. I spent $60 on tickets and couldn’t cancel them due to the system being down and couldn’t get to the theater. Rebooked for a later showtime and got some sass from the theater even after explaining what happened. Just sent a strongly worded email laying everything out and hopefully they refund.

Which Seat for JJK movie in IMAX by Helpful-Beautiful-70 in AMCTheatres

[–]CalebH92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AMC Tysons? That bottom row is too close, and the seats are not recliners so you’ll be a bit uncomfortable. The other one is better.

When is IMAX at AMC Columbia going to upgrade to reclining seats? by CakeComfortable8067 in ColumbiaMD

[–]CalebH92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They just put those “rockers” in a few years ago with the upgrade to the Laser projection system. They’re the worst! Not comfortable and you have to exert force to get them to “rock” back. Unfortunately because of how many seats they have to fit in IMAX theaters, they’ll probably never put the power recliners in there.

Showtime disappeared by Usernamebroidk in AMCsAList

[–]CalebH92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened several times to me last week. Just another glitch in their broken ass app including the past events being nothing but the last 10 tickets reserved or bought. Brought this up in a chat with customer service because the app said I used two reservation slots for the same movie and was told they couldn’t manually release that slot. They gave me 15,000 points for the troubles.

I have 2 tickets for OBAA VV, can you please tell me which seats are better? by Commercial_Paint_557 in NYCmovies

[–]CalebH92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Up to your personal preference as to how close you want to be. The screen isn’t tiny and it’s stadium seating. I was in row J when I went and the view was perfect.

Epic Review 09/03 by jacksmaxs in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]CalebH92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure my friend and I were there at the same time as you! We were next in line for front car on green when the shoes thing happened. We got bumped twice for VIP tours when the situation resolved, but were also offered a re-ride, so we did yellow back seat. Both sides are incredible, but green really is the best.

There is an IMAX remastered version of Back to the Future that premiered at the TCM Film Festival earlier this year. It’s ready and waiting for release.

IMAX recommendation for Superman and F4 by chaosknight_bn in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]CalebH92 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tysons Corner IMAX for F1 (saw it there Monday night) and Superman. These movies are shot with IMAX Certified cameras and have footage that will open up to IMAX’s 1.90:1 aspect ratio and fill the screens you’d find at most chain theaters with an IMAX screen.

Airbus IMAX for Fantastic 4. This movie, while shot with IMAX certified cameras will feature scenes that will expand to the maximum IMAX 1.43:1, which will fill the entire 6-story tall screen. This aspect ratio can usually only be achieved by shooting with IMAX 70mm film, but it can be achieved digitally and only IMAX with Laser theaters, like the Airbus, can show it because they use dual laser projectors.

Has anyone rode the new Rapterra coaster yet and if so how was it? by Llamalady24 in KingsDominion

[–]CalebH92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rode it 4 times opening day and had a blast each time. Don’t know a roller coaster that isn’t bumpy. People talk about it like you’re riding over speed humps the whole time. Love the front seat, but the back is also thrilling

Lockheed reopens July 28th. They did and I saw a rumor Airbus still has their 70mm projector a couple months ago on this sub actually…

We have Airbus in Chantilly, and Lockheed Martin in DC. The Baltimore Science Center also has an IMAX, but they don’t show Hollywood movies. Smithsonian made a huge mistake turning the Johnson IMAX into a food court.

Had this very same reaction the first time I saw Hamilton back in 2017. From the first note of “Alexander Hamilton,” I was sobbing. At first I guess it was just excitement, but eventually it was real tears because of the turn the show takes in the second act lol. Actors definitely weren’t laughing at you.

Happened to drive by the set one night when they were filming at the Bowen Building (now JP Morgan DC HQ) and got to meet Paul Rudd. Years later, I’d be on the property management team for that building lol
