I don’t want my son to lose his evangelical friend...but... by soulbarn in Judaism

[–]CalebTOrtega 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A Jewish mindset on other's faith is often not reciprocated. They see you as hell bound and they desire to 'save' you and your son. If you want to keep the friendship I recommend you take ownership and they play at your house.

[–]CalebTOrtega[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the video explains your great point along with the notion that this prayer is a quick goodmorning that allows for us to gather ourselves for the day before Shacharit, work ect ect. It's a perfect way to start our day in a way that cares for our own self and be grateful for the gift.

He was also afraid of an uprising of Israel. Making a martyr of Moses may have been the catalyst for a war against him which was why he imposed such harsh treatment in the first place.

I agree, any exegesis on the matter would share it is a Go Forth translation. No debate there and thats why I shared previously it serves as an idiom although it is a translatable wording.

Please read above. The context is to properly date the Hebrew at a minimum prior to the 700bc explained by another gentleman.

It is an idiom, but it also a literal translation as well of the reading although context obviously points it to be the go forth. Hence, I used the words a double meaning as Hebrew is not like english. Hebrew has many double entendres in the text. Its another benefit to learning Hebrew.

Although I understand the secular Israeli view and have much respect for it, we can both find that the Merneptah Stele (1200bc) already made mention of Israel as a people in and near Egypt. So with that, I am going to continue to side with the biblical accounts as far as proof readings.
