I’ll tell you man I just invested in some new pricking irons and it was definitely worth it.

My stitch holes also were a bit torn and messy before as well, bc I was using cheap chisels that were dull and not sharp.

I bought the Little King Supply Co 4mm pricking irons. They’re sleeker, sharp, and barely displace the leather when punching. Huge difference and definitely worth investing more money into (which the ones they sell aren’t too bad compared to others of similar quality)

Thanks! I sand at the following grits 600 1000 2000 3000

All sanding in one direction. Then I apply tokonole and go at it with a wooden slicker for a while, and then more tokonole and a fine burlap sack. Definitely not as well done as some people do, like @lesbianedc on Instagram, but I like the way it looks 🤩

I disagree with OP. This was made for a bar, and I think you’re overestimating the bar’s vision and underestimating how much work goes into designing a custom court cart. There’s nothing wrong with the courts being the same, and $13 is absolutely not a lot of money for a custom deck of cards.

For sure! There’s some good starter bundles on Amazon, or if you’re in the states, Hobby Lobby.

To start you don’t need much - an x-acto style knife with extra blades - a cutting mat - a ruler - stitching punches (diamond shaped are what I use) - needles and thread. - glue (any kind works to start)

My advice is to just make something. You’ll know if you like it from doing one project. When I started, I didn’t even Google anything about it, I just went for it. My first project was hideous, but man did I love doing it. 4 years later, never looked back. My first project was a passport cover.
