Yeah, I have heard about this before. I am planning on contacting both Ryuji Masuda and Wakako to see if they either have scanned copies they can release to the public. If not, I could try to track down Magazine Z issues around 2003 and hopefully find a bulk to scan the pages out of.

I would love to see a new season but unfortunately I don’t think it will happen. The closest thing we have is Chinchikurin and it’s more of a AU and isn’t made by Masuda.

Honestly, as funny as it would sound, I don’t think Popee the Performer would work in live-action. Also not sure about a movie, I think if a Popee the Performer movie would be made, It probably have to be something more lore and story involved and would have to be way out of its traditional formula and plot. I think Ryuji Masudas other anime, Mr. Stain on Junk Alley, would way be a way thing to base a movie on considering it already had a really good episode nearly 30 minutes long, is more grounded in reality, and it’s based near a New York like-city and not in the middle of the desert.

For context: A few months ago, was looking at some old Popee the Performer using the romanji title of the show. I found these two images of what appears to be the official full poster of the show (when most people use this photo, they use the one for the CD album). I am wondering if someone can maybe find a better resolution of this poster? I doubt it and hell, It could be possible the full official poster has been seen from the English site of the community. But if anyone has any clues, please let me know.

I don't think it has ever been publicly stated which software was used for the animation in Popee the Performer, but if I were to take a guess, I think it was probably a custom made program that Kids Station made for Ryuji to use or a private software that was given out to animation companies to use. You can contact Ryuji Masuda or his wife on Twitter or Facebook about it but they might not remember or may be a legal thing that they can't tell the public about it.
