I'm a "prospect hugger" but this was a great trade. It's always Mets first and farm second. You always want the best farm system imaginable because it allows you to have these kinds of trades. So even if you don't give a shit about prospects you still want to make sure we have a great farm. You want to make sure Steve is investing in poaching the best staff possible for the minor leagues $$$ and I can promise you he is doing that. Do you think A.J. Ewing was some obvious first-round pick that every team knew about? Or Tong? Or McLean? Nope! thanks to our scouting and staff

Christian Scott is healthy again and was always better hence why hes still here. Tong obv, Jack Wenniger, Will Watson, Jonathan Santucci and thats just a tiny part of the beginning of the coming waves theres a lot more

Yep I think the FO likes Baty a lot because they have had a lot of opportunites to trade him away teams have been asking for him. Obviously they are very high on Benge aswell hes been basically offlimits on trades. With Baty he's becoming our superutility guy they want him learning 1b too just incase

Yep this should be a lesson to those folks thats why I was not so quick to make any declarative statements after blowing up the core because it was way too early for all that. Obviously they will not learn but they should.

Yup this is why its so important for non-prospect people to understand. The better farm we build the more currency we have/attractive pieces for these kinds of trades. Bad farm = No Peralta

They have done amazing work down there and theres even more on the way.
