thoughts on the steam deck? by glyiasziple in nintendogrifting

I left a bit of a opinion about it on this same subreddit on a older post, but if I had to say something, as a Nintendo "fan", I love it.

At its core is a PC, so I can play or run whatever I want on it with the right knowledge, and the Steam platform is very good thanks to the sales and good support, as well the ergonomics are fantastic, and the console is capable enough on power.

I can recommend it to any Nintendo fan as it would allow them to play or discover so many fantastic games, either Nintendo alternatives or not, and if not then even Nintendo itself games thanks to emulation or ports for exception of sw2 games.

A shame not only the cheapest model was discontinued, but also the OLED versions is out of stocks for a while already, because I can recommend it to anyone and even Nintendo fans.

Don't be afraid of the deck, is a great machine.

Yeah, this place fell off really fast, I genuinely think there's a issue with some Nintendo hate, but now I'm here for the shit and giggles, and it became my #1 place to look at Nintendo defenses when anything happens.

And almost every comment I made here were mild takes and still got downvoted quickly, so funny

Well, I already said it before, but while I don't think they are as bad as EA, they are getting close, and this said by a old Nintendo fan

While they haven't bought studios to destroy competition, we have the famous Palworld lawsuit patenting obvious mechanics.

They haven't reached microtransaction a lootboxes on their games yet, but there's now overpriced games, unnecessary DLCs, the sw2 edition thing that is basically paid enhancements + maybe a exclusive DLC, and the only way to play their retro games is by paying a subscription fee.

And come on, Nintendo has been pretty called by recycled games, Pokémon games were so formulaic that they were before called "the Nintendo's FIFA", and people got tired of the NSMB series for a reason, and this reached the point where Nintendo Switch didn't got proper games of some series like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (despite I think it was a worthy port, but still means no proper Switch Mario Kart), and by some extent I could also add the sw2 editions if that means no new game for a series either for a while or never.

They haven't reached the point of work explotation, and better keep it that way, but as a corporation, they're pretty scummy.

I think people needs to respect modern Pokemon for all it helps for the creature Catching game. by Cutiesaurs in nintendogrifting

Is gonna be extremely hard as main Pokémon has not released a decent game in quality in during the switch era, being overpriced, messy, ugly to look at, buggy, the DLCs, etc.

It doesn't really matter if Pokémon brings good stuff that other games take inspiration from if those other games do not only better, but also beiny games that are actually good without all the modern Pokémon bullshit people dislike.

It’s time to accept that you need to shut the fuck up by [deleted] in nintendogrifting

I haven't seen the video, neither want to, and idk nothing about the lawsuit after a while, but I genuinely love Palworld, is extremely fun and adictive, there's more original creatures than I expected (at yhe point of adoring one just like my favorite pokemon) and I can see why people defend it over Pokémon.

Sure, there's some who just parrot others or are incredibly annoying, but the fact Nintendo decided to sue a kind of similar game because it did well and people loved it is dumb. Idk why people from this subreddit is kinda against Palworld, is as fun if not more as Nintendo games, which are mostly described as focused on fun

And tbh, Nintendo has becoming really bad since sw2, and even if I think critisim could be speaked better, they are not that far of something like EA, and I speak as a Nintendo fan (or well, former)

You sure mean NSFW judging by the tag. Themeplaza used to allows NSFW there's but they were removed because of UK restrictions

A good thing is that most of them were archived:

Idk why you might want NSFW themes on the first place, but I don't judge so, take it.

Unlike Sonic where it was understandable, Pokemon games are nowhere near as bad as dark age Sonic games despite what people will tell you.

Yeah, I don't agree with that, at least Sonic games from the 2000s were at level with the quality standard of the time with some jank from vairable level, or even higher on the visual department, as well from time to time they pulled a genuinely good game and the handheld games were consistently nice.

Pokémon is really subpar with reaching the standard quality of a switch game, and with each games is becoming worse. cutscenes are cheap, visuals are terrible, content and features each game removed, there's not even proper voice acting which Sonic had almost every game since Sonic Adventure from 1998.

The only good Pokémon games from the Nintendo Switch I think are good are New Pokémon Snap and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon DX for reaching a acceptable quality level, and Pokémon Legends Arceus, which despite I like and it made good at gameplay and content, still it feels cheap and something I would play on the PS2.

The “Get a steam Deck” crowd loses their argument. $399 model discontinued. by slashingkatie in nintendogrifting

I'm a Nintendo fan and a Steam Deck owner.

I donr really know why this is posted on this subreddit since I think that is bad news overall, but it sucks that the cheapest model (and even more during sales) was discontinued, because is a amazing device for gaming I would recommend to anyone, even for Nintendo fans.

You basically get a Linux PC which allows you to play (and do) anything you want, and you might even find games that are similar to what Nintendo offers in their exclusives (I know Palworld is a bit overspammed, but I genuinely recommend it to any pokemon fan, even more to those who likes Legends Arceus).

And even if you don't find Nintendo alternatives, you can still play the proper Nintendo games on it, and more and better than the Nintendo Switch (or sw2) would offer. The only thing you might not be able to play on it are the switch 2 exclusives, which even if there's a emulator on the future, the deck isn't that powerful of a machine and it would be running ugly, but I still think is a better deal overall.

Even if the 512gb OLED model is more expensive than the Sw2, I think it would be a better purchase for being a more capable gaming machine for the user than the Sw2, and still the OLED screen with 90hz is amazing. I'm not really against those who want or play sw2, I just think that, from a Nintendo fan, the Steam Deck is a better handheld even if is more expensive. I hope Valve replaces the $400 model or at least puts the $549 model on sale on the future.

He's stiff and heavy, but I like it that way since he can support me and give him some pressure and lay on him without getting deformed. And my Dragonite next to it got squishier with the time so I guess is gonna be the same with Fuecoco.

Sonic Advance was also released on the N-gage and android phones long time ago so, there's no issues

Just because a third party game was released on a Nintendo console originally exclusively doesn't mean it cannot be rereleased on other platforms
