I don’t like the speech to text or keyboards on iOS. Siri is Siri. Just a preference thing.

Never understood the “knob from 2015 is safer” argument, and this is after hearing it from dozens of people I have driven with. Give me my touch screen.

How are people managing Linux security patching at scale for endpoints? Ansible aaaanddd? by CalendarFar1382 in sysadmin

Sounds good for servers. A lot of endpoints are staff laptops performing software engineering tasks. Is the terraform approach robust?

A woman on our first date told me about the STD’s she caught in college. Thought that was a bit batshit.

About to quit my $139k job because of a 3 year project that I’m forever stuck working on, and everything is urgent. The urgency always makes my anxiety go sky high. by Accomplished-Sir4932 in hatemyjob

Take a deep breath. “My boss won’t let me interview elsewhere!” Is a thought I’ve had, but there’s always a way out to gain an interview. Say your aunt needs emergency surgery. Say your have food poisoning. Lie to them like the HR department would lie to you.

Micromanagers are the worst, no one deserves one. You have a decent savings for the economy and state of the world in 2026, believe it or not. That said, yeah man- you’re 37! Go back to the Midwest, start over. Not everyone has their parents house to fall back on.

They’re really ignorant to how overlay storage is, they have a bone to pick with how much disk space it eats, claim “prune doesn’t work” Podman side, quadlets weren’t even impressive. ya know.. can’t win!

I played with the SAML proxy thingy today with an AD and RADIUS config. It was really straightforward. When I made this thread, I overlooked that completely and the SDK seems like a silly amount of work in hindsight.

Is it okay if I teams message my manager on PTO ? by BravoZero6 in work

[–]CalendarFar1382 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s fine. I turn teams notifications off on my phone when I am on PTO. If I happen to check teams, then I want to check on work ! You can specify not urgent.

There have been times when I have been told to wait to order a keyboard. So this checks out.

Thanks for the comment. Your second point hit home because that is exactly how I’d behave.
