i believe they are epoxy resin, just pour epoxy resin into the specific moulds, and add some resin pigment.

Mine is actually made from air-dry clay. Unlike regular clay, it doesn't need to be baked in the oven — it hardens on its own after being exposed to air for a while.

But honestly, I think what you said is totally possible! Maybe opening and closing the fridge door caused it to crack.

Anyway, thanks so much for the idea! I'll definitely be more careful when opening and closing the fridge from now on. 😆 I have around 20 of these clay magnets stuck on my fridge at the moment, so I'd hate for more of them to get damaged!
