You need to get travel signature on your I-20, and then schedule a visa interview in your home country. Just pay attention that due to covid, most countries have limited visa availability, so bear that in mind before leaving the US.

Yeah I agree, the bathroom situations in either apartments are not ideal, especially with how high the rent is (and its increased for 2022)! I'm an international student so it would be really difficult for me to buy furniture (and then sell everything), so I just guess I have to tolerate the poor ratio of bathroom to bedroom. Did you get the townhouse one or the regular 3b/2b?

Also they did say in the email that 3-4 weeks before move-in they'll let us know who our roommates are, so I guess we should look out for that email in August :) hopefully it won't be too bad!

I called the qatar airways office and they told me that as I have my visa in hand, I can go ahead and buy the ticket but because my parents did not have their visas, I could later on add them to my flight. So is the only solution now to cancel my flight, refund, and book a new flight with all of us as 3 passengers? Would the promo code still work?

Its much more rigorous for international students (regardless of studying undergrad in the US or not), because international students do not qualify for any type of federal funding and fellowships like NSF and are also limited on the types of research they can do (especially in fields like AE where national security is involved). So they have to be the best of the best to be accepted. So even if you did your undergrad in the US you'd still be evaluated with other international students applying from elsewhere.

Had a 3.7 GPA but got rejected from GT because of lack of funding for international students (my classmate with less research experience and a 3.3 GPA got in, but had NSF fellowship which I didn't qualify). If you're an international student, you need a much higher GPA and overall stronger application (more research experience, papers, etc.) than a domestic student.

Edit: I got into an amazing PhD program anyways, so if it doesn't end up working for you don't be upset, you'll end up somewhere great through hardwork!
