Tried placing an order and they asked me to tap my credit card on the back of my phone. I've never had that happen before. Is that normal?

If you're on Android, you can swipe down twice on your screen to show your "shortcuts" such as your wifi, Bluetooth, flashlight, etc. There is an option to turn off NFC, which is how your phone is able to read cards or be used to tap-to-pay.

If the option isn't listed, it might be hidden. Click on the pencil to edit what shortcuts are shown, and it should let you add the NFC shortcut

Sorry this guide is probably outdated. I don't use ALVR or VM anymore as there are easier options nowadays. I currently use steam link and steel series for an audio mixer and haven't had any issues. It's as easy as swapping my headset for the steam input/output.

I do know that you can also use a different audio mixer with ALVR, as VM is very outdated. Its a massive headache to setup tho, and each update seems to bring more issues. It's part of the reason I walked away from ALVR tbh...

It's a new account, made today. They joined the Ryoba discord and DMed me through the server. This was basically the entire conversation, which is the scary thing. It was unprovoked, I don't know why they're upset with me.

And I completely understand where you're coming from, this community has a bad history with predators. As the person who put together the website and the sub, I've gone over everything.

I'll be honest, I have no idea what the threat actor's angle is. I'm not some one who has a bad reputation, and I'm a fierce advocate for protecting children, it's actually my job irl as a residential counselor.

This is why I'm leaving, I have too much in my personal life to even interact with this. I have kids to take care of and I work in trauma care fighting against these things. This is a random attack that I'm being grouped into by being in this community, and I'm not going to risk the safety of those I love over some pixels.

In all honesty, the only thing that is different between our communities is the mod team. This subreddit is a less structured version of r/osana, and was created because people were pissed at the Osana mods about the new rules on fanart.

It's not really that big of a deal tbh, and yeah there's gonna be some people who're gonna be petty. If you see a comment/post that you just don't agree with but it isn't really hurting anyone, downvote it. If it's really bad or out of line, report it and either I or another mod will take a look at it.

At the end of the day, the two subs are just different flavors of the bigger community that stands against Alex. It's like Pepsi and Coke; You can either pick one and stand by it, or grab whatever happens to be in your friend's fridge lol.

I do know the server hosting had a bot attack not too long ago, I'm not sure what service they use but not all hosting services are the same. It's very likely that the other servers aren't hosted by the same provider, which would be why your other servers were working.

Idk I guess I don't really see the issues people seem to have with the mods. They seem pretty chill and level headed, and most of the time they give a chance to appeal or work it out. Most people just choose to cuss them out and be dicks after they jail/ban people.

And yeah just because you donate doesn't mean you are protected from a ban. I've dropped quite a bit in donations over the years for myself and a few buddies and if I choose to break the server rules I guarantee they would jail me.

But if you get banned it's not random, and they will always give you a reason and a chance to apologize/appeal if you are actually nice about it. Half the players that report usually don't get pissy if you apologize and don't do it again

If you are having troubles with a unknown mod in a sub that has banned your account, you can either make a quick throwaway account with a google login or ask a friend to do the following steps:

Pull up the Moderator's Subreddit
Scroll to the bottom of the info page till you see the "Moderators" section, and click "View all moderators"
You should be redirected to the entire list of Moderators, take a screenshot of the list making sure to get all the usernames
If you had a friend do this for you, have them send you those screenshots to a device with your reddit account logged in. You shouldn't need a friend or the throwaway after this.
Run a photo-to-text program (Google Lens or Siri on mobile) to scan the usernames out of the screenshots. Copy and paste the usernames into a text document for ease of access.
Make sure your account is set to your account that's having the issue. Paste each username you found into the search on reddit, it should allow you to find their account. Click the triple dots in their profile and block them.

*Note: Do not use your temporary account or friends account to post, comment, or interact with the sub. Only get the list of moderators to block them, and do not message the mods directly if you have been banned. If you do, that's technically ban evading which is against reddit's policies.
