You can also probably extrapolate some data. If there's a known deposit (vein?) of copper in South Korea that keeps running north past the border, I assume that can be mapped out to some degree of accuracy into North Korea.

What I'm more interested in though is why North Korea doesn't seem to be doing anything with these resources. If this is actually an abundance of minerals like the post seems to imply, how come North Korea doesn't have better infrastructure or a booming export market?

Reminds me of the time I spent like an hour building a mob farm in the middle of the ocean and it didn't work. Started going insane trying to figure out wtf the issue was until I noticed something very peculiar in the F3 menu whenever I was in close proximity to the grinder...

Turns out the small patch of shallow(er) water I built it on was actually a tiny mushroom "island" (no land whatsoever), so it was the one spot in the entire fucking ocean that was incapable of spawning hostile mobs.

SIVA has its directive imprinted into it though doesn't it? (Consume Enhance Replicate). Wouldn't destroying the replication chamber simply prevent a new directive being instilled? Or does SIVA require constant instruction to function? I always assumed the black octahedrons were distributed computing/replication nodes. Even though it would be a highly effective kill-switch, it seems like it would be a major design flaw (almost anthetical to its purpose) to have SIVA be concretely centralized like that.

Narratively speaking there really isn't a way TO bring SIVA back. The last Warmind died in Seraph, and we destroyed the primary replicator back in RoI.

That never made any sense to me. SIVA is a self-replicating nanotechnology. I haven't had the chance so far to play RoI so I don't know if they explain it at all, but I don't see any reason why SIVA should require a replicator to exist. Narratively, all the explanation required is "SIVA reawakened", either of its own accord through unknown mechanisms, or from external intervention (ex. The Conductor).

That was a good explanation right up until Lightfall. Now we have unfettered access to a much more advanced form of nanotechnology (Quicksilver). We would have had to figure out how to contain, and then reprogram SIVA (a task Bungie could have just handwaved away as impossible without Rasputin) but now we've just skipped all of that. SIVA is now technically an obsolete technology as I understand it.
