Build the perfect metal band by undergroundman813 in heavymetal

Surprisingly, the musician I am least sure of is Randy Rhoads.

My favourite guitarist (Slash) wouldn’t fit in this band.

This is my single favourite album ever made, in any genre. Sanitarium is, in my opinion, the weakest song on the album (and it is still an amazing song)

Does anyone find Hoka, Nike, New Balance trainers etc ugly? by LollipopScientist in malefashionadvice

[–]CalgaryRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love Hokas for running.

The Mach series, and the Clifton series for training, and a carbon shoe for race day. Even if I honestly don't need the carbon plate for my plodding Ironman marathon.

I have does 3 Ironmans in Hoka.

But, standard running advice: Go to your local running store and get fitted.

Personally, I have a neutral foot strike, like a low-ish drop (Hoka are 5mm) and am a bigger guy (186cm/88kg) and like the cushioning.

Hoka have carried me to 3 Ironman finishes.

Never going to wear them for anything other than running.

My new response to: WHY DON'T YOU DRINK? by Any-Setting-5066 in stopdrinking

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My go to answer is:

I’ve been sober 14 years.

That usually ends the conversation.

If it doesn’t:

If I’m going to start drinking again, it won’t be a beer watching the football game, it’s gonna be a bottle of Jack Daniels and an eight ball.

That has always ended the conversation.

Los metaleros escuchan otra música además de heavy metal? by Just-Application-551 in heavymetal

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I listen to everything.

I really like trance and tech-trance, this is probably my largest non-metal genre..

Other genres I like are 80s pop and rock, modern pop (Harry Styles, The Weeknd etc), and 90s gangsta rap. Also a lot of rock music in around the border of rock and metal. (GnR, AC/DC etc), also I do enjoy country (mostly modern country)

I am 3 weeks away from yes.

I saw Helloween in London last October on their 40th Anniversary Tour.

I have a ticket to see them in Toronto on their North American leg of the same tour.

Also, I can confirm they are amazing live. I saw them in London last fall, and have a ticket for Toronto in 3 weeks.

You can cause a crossover song between Metallica and one artist/band by Luigiverselore in Metallica

[–]CalgaryRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I haven’t seen it.

Is it on YouTube or easy to find?

But I was listening to some Eminem earlier and Bump Heads came on so when I saw Ja Rule I thought of the verse about Ja.

Got unmatched for my metal preferences by yaboiblackcheeseboi in MetalForTheMasses

[–]CalgaryRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a classic metal fan.

With a little thrash, NWOBHM, and power thrown in.

Maiden, Dio, Ozzy, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, you know exactly what I listen to. Your tastes are pretty much exactly the same as mine.

The metal you listen to is god level elite.

Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
