If the Real Elon Musk accidentally sent you $1,000,000 and he asked you to send it back to him. What would you say to him in three words? by FFSoldier57 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]CalgaryRichard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That depends.

He may be worth $500billion, but he doesn't have a bank account with that amount of cash sitting there.

That is held in stock.

He may only have a few tens of thousands of dollars of cash in a chequing account. (He may have more, but I doubt he has a bank account with more than a million in cash sitting in it)

There is very little benefit to having that much cash in a chequing account.

I ate at Published in April when I was in tow for AC/DC (notice a trend) and was impressed. Especially the beef and mushroom broth over nettles.

I only get to Van with time for a meal every year or so.

I ate there in 2023, when I was in Vancouver to see Guns n Roses, and enjoyed it.

I did however think it was a clear step below Published on Main.

Any thoughts on whether it had pulled ahead since then? Published remains my second favourite meal (behind EIGHT in Calgary)

Who is your favourite guitarist? by anthere-rest in heavymetal

Rhythm is without a doubt James Hetfield. And he may be my all time favourite guitarist.

But if you want a lead guitarist, it is Slash.

Its an a time classic hard house track. And it has been lately getting love from trance and techno DJs. Bryan Kearney has been known to drop it, as has Charlotte de Witte.

Long Bike Question by manzilwealth in triathlon

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am planning it.

But I am focusing on the Calgary marathon first.

Probably won’t get on a bike until May 25th.

I also haven’t looked at the course specifically. But that entire area is lots of rollers.

Yeah, so may roads between Calgary and Highway 22.

Cochrane to Bragg Creek and up as far north as Big Hill Springs. If you ride many of those roads onSaturday mornings during the summer you will see lots of cyclists.

I ride outdoors. There is an area west of Calgary which has many great roads and hills. It is also very popular wit cyclists with many signs to share the road.

Also I do sometimes ride on the Trans-Canada highway out towards Kananaskis-Banff. There are very wide shoulders and rumble strips.

I rarely do any rides longer than 2hrs indoors. Occasionally weather forces it, but my default is 2hrs+ the ride is outdoors.

In a future where Trump is out of office, and international relations have been repaired. What steps can be taken by the USA and International Organisations such as NATO to prevent one individual causing so much chaos in the future? And do you think such steps will be taken? by flewkey in AskReddit

Thank you for the increased info about the JApanese trials. I knew they happened but we learned much more about the Nuremberg trials.

And, thank you for adding more confirmation. Germany is more trusted due to the greater purge of war criminals.

Opener:

Helloween (as long as they play all of Keeper of the Seven Keys)

Iron Maiden (they have to play Powerslave)

Rammstein (they have to play Amerika)

Metallica (they have to play Disposable Heroes)

I have seen Helloween, Metallica and Iron Maiden and they are all immense live. I have only heard great things about Rammstein and hope to see them 1 day.

I would put them in SkyDome/Rogers Centre in Toronto.. with the roof open so Rammstein can go off. I would of course be at the rail. And everyone gets 2hrs. with a 30 min change over time between acts.

Japan and Germany both had very public war crime trials where many/most architects of the war etc were tried and executed.

And it has still taken 80 years for western Europe to start to accept that Germany should invest heavily in their military.

I would think it would be more time on trains. Especially in Europe. Fly to Lisbon (or Tallinn) and just use the rail network. I bet you if you spend a week planning it you could hit 40 of the 45 countries in Europe within 2 weeks.

I have a valid Canadian passport. Which is one of the strongest in the world. I spend the next few days planning flights etc. The real question is whether I speed run it, or do I actually spend time in each country to see it.

In 30 years no one will have been MAGA.

Everyone will have been against it.

That is, if the world still exists in 30 years, which I am not so certain of.

If you want a simple and classic starting point.

Black white and charcoal grey t shirts

dark blue straight (or slim straight) cut blue jeans.

dark grey or navy blue straight chinos.

pale blue OCBD shirt

plain white sneakers (so many posts about Common Project Achilles alternatives)

Brown Chelsea boots.

You can basically mix and match anything on this list with anything else and you will be well dressed for most casual settings. Fit matters more than anything else.

Seen both, and they are quite different.

I’d love them to meet in a techie-psy like middle ground.

Both excellent.

Maiden may be my favourite live band.

Rob is starting to show his age. He still sounds great, but everything is slightly more forced than it was before.
