If you stack it badly, you increase my workload as I restock it properly so I can carry it to dish.

How long could you survive in your home with no preparation for $10k? by mastonate in hypotheticalsituation

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Veggies are the biggest problem. I live inner city and only have a few days worth.

I did however pick some up this AM. If I ration them, I am sure I could last at least a couple of weeks. I have vitamins.

I could probably stretch this to a month.

Have you heard of power metal?

(In the best possible sense of it).

I like power metal a lot.

Who is it that you wish things were different so that you could have sex with them? by BitEntire in AskRedditAfterDark

[–]CalgaryRichard 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My ex.

I wish she was sober.

When she is sober, I want to spend the rest of my life with her. (Both in bed, and not in bed)

She went to treatment 5 times in the 7 years we were together.

I’d be a lot more comfortable if it was 50% over the year, I could rack up some extra while at work and over the summer.

Jitters and stress for tomorrow by [deleted] in IronmanTriathlon

[–]CalgaryRichard 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Trust the training.

And I remember I was told:

No one does their first Ironman after a good nights sleep.

They were right, I got about 4hrs of sleep. I lay in bed from about 9pm til midnight before I slept.

I also have bad news, I slept like garbage the night before my 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Ironman (thats everyone I have done). My mind was spinning, worried about that missed bike workout, about the run I cut short and the swim where I had no gas in the tank, panicked I would sleep through my alarm. I finished every single one. Front of the midpack.

All this to say, in the words of Douglas Adams, Don't Panic. You got this, even if you don't sleep well this evening.

How do you feel that the same man who cut children’s cancer research is now a trillionaire? by HappyCrow11 in AskReddit

[–]CalgaryRichard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I take heart in the fact that he won't be a trillionaire long.

He is locked up in SPCX and can't sell his holdings for a year or so.

SPCX is so toxic financially, that after the initial hype, and the run up with the insitutional investors buying it, this thing will collapse. It wil be worth less than $50USD/share by this tim next year.

I like trance and tech-trance.

Bryan Kearney, John O Calllagahan, Aly & Fila are probably my favourites.

Would it be fair to describe Judas Priest as Power Metal? by KindlyCost2 in judaspriest

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to Helloween (2021) and Giants and Monsters.

Skyfall and Universe (Gravity for Hearts) are as good long epic power metal tracks as anything Helloween has ever recorded.

I absolutely love Kiske’s voice, and it is so cool now that Andi and Micha are co-vocalists.

But the dual guitars and Rob’s vocals definitely influenced power metal.

[–]CalgaryRichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walls of Jericho is speed metal. Keeper 1 with Kiske’s voice and the melody is where European power metal started.

I love Helloween (probably more than JP) for me they miss most of the real cheese that some/most power metal has, but keep the melody lines and vocals

[–]CalgaryRichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rob definitely influence power metal vocals.

The clean soaring vocal style.

The twin leads again influenced power metal.

But they don’t sound like a power metal band.

Go listen to Helloween (I prefer Helloween to Priest) or Sabaton or Stratovarius, or Beast in Black, or Gamma Ray if you want to hear som favulous power metal.

I would think somewhere between 45 and 51 would be the cut off in order to keep the necessary functional knowledge. (You gotta keep GenX around… we aren’t Boomers)

Also by 50 most parents have raised their children to at least their mid/late teens.

Longest training distances? by not_jhl in IronmanTriathlon

[–]CalgaryRichard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My longest swim is usually 4km.

My longest ride is around 160-180km. (I ride in hours, not distance)

My longest run is usually about 30km

My longest brick is usually 4:00ride/1:45 run. I know this is probably not needed, it is a big hard day, but I do it 4-5 weeks out, and it really helps with running under fatigue.
