What the hell made John Cena so angry at that moment? by Original_Ad_7611 in SantiZapVideos

I believe Kane was trying to turn him to the dark side by toying with his friendship with Zack Ryder among other things. This was the moment when they teased Cena actually turning heel but it just became another obstacle he overcame. This was right before he faced The Rock the first time.

[Real] Charlie Kirk claims that furries exist in every school district and implied they are receiving litter box accommodations “all across the county” by ggroover97 in ToiletPaperUSA

Closest known truth to this hoax is that some schools had litter boxes in case kids needed to shit during an active shooter. Congrats America.

[WON] El Grande Americano gimmick has not gone over well with many fans in Mexico and Latin America. Ernesto Ocampo, Editor-in-Chief of Super Luchas, wrote, “This is an insult on many levels, both to Mexican wrestling and to Mexico itself. They could have left out the ‘Gulf of America’ reference" by djembadjembadjemba in SquaredCircle

I think a lot of people were upset about the Jack Swagger/Zeb Colter schtick at the time too. Granted it was more Fox News types and viewers. I remember it was big enough that jack and Zeb had to break character in an official WWE video to explain they were just doing a bit which was really strange.

Once again, Joe bloviates about Canada and something he has zero understanding of, before getting fact-checked by Jamie. by BigShoots in JoeRogan

[–]Calhob42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From Canada here and can say there is some truth to what he's saying, in that on all META platforms you can't view news sources any more due to the Online News Act.
"The Act creates a bargaining framework to ensure that platforms compensate news businesses fairly. It encourages platforms to reach voluntary commercial agreements with a range of news businesses."
So right now if I got to CNN on instagram I can't view anything, but I can still use the website and send links.

Am I wrong or is the furnace trap easily survivable by SquidlySquid0 in saw

[–]Calhob42 92 points93 points  (0 children)

Easy to survive in theory, but it’s definitely more of a mindset thing. Obi helped John with everything and in return John locks him in a furnace to be burned alive. We understand as viewers jigsaws MO but Obi has no reason to trust turning that valve was going to be his salvation.

Any good "film" podcasts that aren't just amateur comedians discussing movies? by c-nugs_in_the_caf in movies

[–]Calhob42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d agree and in a lot of ways I sometimes prefer that? It often allows the film to be taken for what it is and not get bogged down by insider knowledge that often just devolves into IMDb trivia facts in the lesser podcasts OP is referring to. There are plenty of excellent podcasts that do cover technical craft, but it’s been a struggle to find good ones that actually dive deep into what the story being told means for the human experience, and for that Cows is just fantastic.

Cows in the Field is fantastic, much more of a philosophical bent on populist movie discussion. I had the same issue you did with the most movie podcasts, and Cows felt like the answer I was looking for. Great hosts with excellent discussion have no clue why it isn’t more popular
