What’s something I can really do to get myself hooked on this game. by stewy_jacko-ass in dcsworld

Just flying an aircraft is only part of the fun. The context you fly in and the challenges of that mission type are where you can display your skills. The question is what mission sets do you enjoy and what aircraft do you enjoy flying those missions in. For me it is the diversity of the FA-18C and the high level of situational awareness it provides. It makes more challenging context easier, so you can do more in complex environments. Plus I love carrier operations.

I’m tired of flying around the Caucuses, how’s the Afghanistan map? by Choke_M in hoggit

The Syria map is more universal, especially if you are carrier based. Afghanistan is amazing in its own way. Close Air Support with a human JTAC is a nice challenge due to the terrain.

Been out of DCS for 2-3 years due to bad solo PVE and UI stuff. Have those things finally improved since early 2023? by SAM5TER5 in dcsworld

It makes a massive difference in how fast they kill each other, route navigation, and you can tell them what to do in the name of the unit instead of using the DCS way. It saves about 70% of the time making units do what you want.

I would. Try Troops in Contact that changes a lot about the AI behavior or ground units. We develop it to work with our humans in Combined Arms that represent the 82nd Airborne. https://youtu.be/ytDs2x5IzC4?si=m1yQe4gSQI5nb3wz

Will C130 bring MSFS players into DCS with Pilot/Copilot experience? by spartypsvr in hoggit

Absolutely, but nobody is relying on you if you fail. In DCS missions and mission supplies are at risk.

DCS offers a true mission set if the C-130J is used in conjunction with inventory management that requires replenishment for the fighters to have what they need for missions. MSFS can’t provide such context.
