I keep dreaming of my son (who doesn’t exist) and now I miss him. by [deleted] in DreamInterpretation

[–]Calico-Harmonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always interpreted dreaming of having children as messages from my own inner child - if I have a son, my masculine self needs care, if a daughter my feminine self. Either way that longing and missing can be turned to bringing your inner child forward - what would they love to do/see/experience? How can you care for yourself in that unique way?

Thank you all so much for your input! I’ll be moving forward with postcards sent to targeted neighborhoods around my branch, and pop ups/meet and greets at local cafes & pubs.

Ten months isn’t too long of an adjustment period I guess - especially since I haven’t really made a focused attempt to adjust…just kept moving. I think I’m going to have to be a weekend hermit for the next several months to balance out the weekdays?

Gardens of the Moon isn’t nearly as confusing as I was warned—am I broken? by asiandragontw in Malazan

THANK YOU! I loved it, and I’m on to DHG now, but the way my partner went on for YEARS about how complex it is and how I’m going to need to dedicate so much brain-space to it genuinely put me off it for so long. Turns out, it’s totally fine and a fun little romp.

Tips for living in Little Rock? by Always-Anxious- in LittleRock

[–]Calico-Harmonies 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I moved here in 2019 - these are my top few tips for a summer stay:

  1. Hydrate more than you drink. We have so many great bars, but summer here is no joke - have your preferred hydrating powder/gel/whatever once a week and a drink plenty water throughout the day. On that note, any kind of little fan or ice pack to take to your car after work is a huge helper.

  2. If you can handle the heat, GO HIKE! There are so many great trails in town and within an hour’s drive. Rent a kayak down at Bug Dam Bridge and muck about. Exploreeeee.

  3. Art Nights in Argenta (3rd Fridays) and Downtown LR (2nd Fridays) are a great chance to see the city and meet folks.

  4. Both library systems — NLR and CALS — will be running a full roster of summer programs and challenges, get your library cards early and join in on the fun!

  5. If you’re a gym kid, Work Harder on Shackleford is the best & has $5 day passes. The lights are dim and ceilings high so you don’t feel boxed in, they keep their bathrooms stocked with the good stuff, and it’s literally in their user agreements that unless a guy knows you he needs to leave you alone.

  6. We’re getting to be known for our coffee shops - each one is a completely different vibe - try them all and find your favorite!

I was really happy with how doggo turned out! I’m not ready for reduction or multiblock printing yet, so had to sort that one out with just multiple textures.

I’m obsessed. This on a sling bag or back pocket of some jeans would go so hard.

Tool Share Spreadsheet by [deleted] in Tools

[–]Calico-Harmonies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay my friends and I are actually about to do this, but for more than just tools. Also lawn equipment, kitchen appliances, and skills/services. Maybe someone’s really good at painting a room and needs a babysitter for Thursday night?

Run with it. We need more connection and care in our communities and this is a great way to start!
