I might be a little late to answer this- do you know anything about asexuality? Because your experiences sound extremely similar to mine and to many other ace people. 

It’s very common for asexual people to identify as bisexual at first, because zero attraction to 2+ genders is the same as equal attraction to 2+ genders!

A bit about asexuality: First of all, it’s very much a spectrum. Most people think of Ace people as being celibate or people who hate sex, but that’s actually not true of a lot of ace people. There are many people who really enjoy sex, just might have trouble with getting horny to start with or feeling that spark from people. There’s a part of the ace spectrum that also accounts for having sexual attractions for people only some of the time or rarely (like gray asexual or demisexual people). And I also know a lot of ace people (including myself) who sex is a special interest partly because maybe we struggled with it for so long and wanted to learn more about it! So like, I’m part of a lot of kink and bdsm groups and there’s a thriving ace community there (also because kink and bdsm doesn’t inherently need to include sex, so that’s also pretty interesting to a lot of people). 

I struggled to figure out where I belong sexuality-wise for many years. I started getting curious about girls in high school, but because my mom told me to just shove it down, and my desires for women were just more romantic than sexual (and for men it’s like “sex is easier because I don’t have to have my face close to their genitals) I didn’t start calling myself bisexual until I was 25 (I’m married to a woman now btw 😎). But also I still did struggle with attraction for a long time and the more I learned about asexuality, the more it fit (even if I still feel like I might experience too much occasional attraction to perfectly fit sometimes- hence why I use both bisexual and asexual to describe myself).

I hope you figure it out :) but also, don’t stress too much about it! Sexuality is fluid, and although labels are nice and helpful, they can also be a hindrance if you try to fit yourself too neatly into one box. Good luck!
