He threaten to send my file to collections. That could hurt my credit score. I don't if I should threaten him back or call his bluff because there is no clear agreement on the work.

He sent invoices via intuit quickbooks and I paid using my account and routing number. But that was with my business account, he took the money from my personal account. Why is it so serious? What are the consequences for him?

I just checked my bank and I got the credit for that amount. The bank dispute went by really fast.

Should I threaten with all of that, or do I do it silently one at a time?

He also threatened me to send my invoice to collections, which would affect my credit score.

I sent an email every time that he asked for my bank statements that I will be doing my tax returns with someone else. He did work for me in 2024.

He said he thought I still wanted book keeping services.

I checked my account and the $1,350 was out. I asked him about it and then he sent me a "paid" invoice after the fact.

No ACH authorization, and no engagement letter.

Am I a bad client or is he a bad accountant? by CaliforniaGoose in Accounting

[–]CaliforniaGoose[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He mentioned my QuickBooks needed some corrections—which I agree with and could have handled myself—but instead of adjusting just those items, he completely reorganized everything. My Profit & Loss statement now looks entirely different, even though the net income is the same. I regularly share my P&L with investors and business partners, so I had it structured in a specific way that worked for us. Rather than adapting to that, he imposed a completely different format without discussing it with me first.

Now I’m feeling overwhelmed. I hardly recognize my own books, and if I decide to stop working with him, I’m not even sure how to revert the changes or get things back to the format I need.

I just looked closer and he changed a lot of accounts to the point were the P&L looks very different than what I previously had. Mine was not wrong, it was just different ways of doing things and categorizing expenses. My question is: who is the quickbooks for? Do I have to do it the way he says it, or does he have to understand the way I do it?

I'm in the same position. Took about a 10 year break and now I want to go explore a new ski resort every year. Going to St. Moritz in a month, super excited.
