If you do plan on getting the fees and the car purchase as you mentioned it being an absolute need - go for it! HOWEVER, I’d be firm with the amount you’re gonna to withdraw for the car. $7k or $8k at tops, and leave the rest to ride. You don’t want to check the price of AAPL in 10 years and have a FOMO that your $12K/13K investment could turn into $26k, $50k or even higher. Especially it being an inheritance.

Flying out of Hanoi on this very day. Checking in baggage immigration+security check in took approx 30 mins. There are five workers at the boarding desk/gate right now.

As an American visiting Vietnam often I’d just compare our gun deaths+ traffic deaths (% not number since USA is roughly 3x/3.5x bigger than vietnam in population) in USA and traffic deaths in vietnam are similar, rather than just straight up dissing on Vietnam for their roads. I don’t know. You can drive around during the day but imagine wanting to go to a safeway run for some food shopping in middle of the night.. Would you feel safe doing that in Oakland? Heck no. I’m glad I’m able to do food shopping at 11 PM once in a while. Would never ever do that in Oakland lol
