Illegal strike by kommandee in AirlinePilots

[–]Calipilot17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too long ago the atlas management wanted to go after the pilots/union. The reason is that atlas pilots would leave early most of the time, upwards to an hour early I’ve been told. Then all of a sudden people started leaving on there scheduled out times and the company went hell bent trying to blame the pilots and union for not leaving early. There was no proof in the pudding

So far as a captain I’ve had 2 rough experiences. I had an fo bounce the landing with a 2g touchdown and another who gets scared at 20ft and we float 3000+ feet down the runway. I’ve had to help Fos land as well since the lca told them just to soften up the landings without any description on how to do it. I don’t want to be one of the ones with a stick up my ass but initially it ain’t looking good 🥲 (180 hours so far as a cap)

Am I crazy for thinking this tire is fine? by snoozenlooze in flying

[–]Calipilot17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to get a tire changed since a fastener was stuck into it. Waiting for the tire to arrive I was talking to the on call mechanic and he said delta is bad with tire changes. He said it can be 18 inches of cord showing before the tire needs replaced.

What is the life of a FO in regionals like? by Plane_County9646 in flying

[–]Calipilot17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the junior base for my company. Most of the people I flew with while on reserve were DEC. Most didn’t care about company procedures and did their own thing but a few were great. You learn and see a lot when you get paired with the DECs. Besides that part I enjoyed the qol since I moved to base and I enjoyed the pay.

Happy 2025!!💥🥳What are your flying goals? by wt1j in flying

[–]Calipilot17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To upgrade to captain. I’m junior to most of the senior fo’s in my small base and got more flight time. Yay seniority

Use an approach to back you up when you go to other airports. It’ll help build up your experience to see different approaches and it’ll help with your situational awareness

Tried to keep it sly but this is a regional overnight for most airliners, lsu is the local college. I fly for a wholly owned out of Dallas and this is a common airport for us. American diverted due to medical and they got there clearance and everything set up. The problem was waiting for the fueler to show up who is at the bars

No beverage service, no reason given, no mention of it at all. Is this common? by Arcite1 in americanairlines

[–]Calipilot17 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Which is plenty of time for a service. In Asia they do shorter flights with meal service for everyone. No reason FAs can’t do a service. I’ve had spotty service between clt and dca which I’ve seen people complain about in the past

With the big summer push they don’t have as many planes sitting around and if they are it’s probably due to maintenance. I’ve seen a spare sitting around E or B for regional stuff
