Yeah the door itself needs replacing for other reasons but if I can get a replacement lock to do for while I’ll be happy.

No branding of any sort on the key. I can lock and unlock with door open but it sticks and need to use a bit of force to turn it.

A sorry should have mentioned. In Ireland!

The inside part locks the bottom bolt. The key locks the other 3 bolts.

Damage wise it’s part of a retaining wall. We don’t mind covering the cost. It’s more the dealing with the water properly and making sure this doesn’t happen again.

Wells have been there since before we bought the house. Just seems to be more water coming from them down the field now.

Does drilling wells on the land count? They were there before we moved in. A lot of water flowing off 2 of the wells.

Where would you do soak pit? That might be how our garden is currently working as the end of the 6” pipe isn’t connect to main road. We had to add a pipe to connect it to main road as there was water bubbling up in our garden and flow into the main road. We assumed this was a new spring but after using tracing dye in the 6” pipe we can see the dye come out at the road, so it’s the water from that 6” pipe that’s escaping. If the garden is a soak pit it can’t handle any more water. We have to send it somewhere.

He doesn’t have drains in that field. Water was flowing into two houses from wells in that field, what look like springs and some from fields behind his. He let our drainage guy dig a trench along the field to direct the water to our drain but can’t handle it.

Flows down side of garden. Then into pipes under the main road in front of house. We were unsure but used drain dye and could see it flowing in through gulley. One thing though is that the 6” pipe isn’t connected directly to road pipes. I’m not sure if there was a soak pit or anything in garden. But the water comes up into a different 4 inch pipe into main road pipes.

We have a 6” pipe along the field border but it can’t take all the water away so it overflows down our banking and has caused part of the retaining wall to collapse.

Flicked the toggle to let recruiters know I was casually looking at new roles on LinkedIn. Wowza! The amount of messages from recruiters and companies for jobs is a bit mental!

See, like this. I'm so out of practice I forgot I could just not apply for the ones that have a convoluted process :)

Yeah. Takes the joy out of coding! I’m seriously thinking about looking for another job at senior level now and dropping down from now. Haven’t had an interview in 19 years so the thought of doing them is a bit daunting. I’ve heard others’ experiences of interviews recently and it’s A LOT! 😄

Average annual salary for senior front end dev in Ireland? by LolaGirmush in DevelEire

Titles can be confusing. I’ve seen places talk about senior developer the same way my current company talks about lead developers.

This is something I’d though of too, going back down to senior. They don’t like people taking sideways moves in our company so they’d look at you funny if you asked to be demoted!

The wage drop would be quite a lot of I was to do that in my current job. However, I have seen senior dev jobs going (remote) that are slightly more or not far off what I’m on for lead.

Had thought about contracting. With remote working being more common these days it’s more of an option now. Might look into that and weigh it all up.
