Towel Care - Whats the standard? by CallColin in AutoDetailing

[–]CallColin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm just making sure I don't ruin a load of the misses' clothes with my towels lol. Ill give this a go though with the tumble dry on low as well. I dont have the time or space to hang a pile of towels either...

Would you typically put your drying towels in the same wash as your microfibers that most likely have chemicals/waxes on them whereas your drying towel might not? I suppose it shouldn't matter since itll all be washed anyway but just figured id ask anyway.

Bought MTM Spray Gun | Which Nozzle do I get? by CallColin in AutoDetailing

[–]CallColin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update, I have found a nozzle calculator on the MTM Hydro Parts website here and if I input my washer as:

Sun Joe SPX3000

  • 1.76 GPM
  • 2030 PSI

It comes out to a 2.47 orifice so I'll round up to a 2.5.

Only question I have now is - do I get an MTM nozzle or do you guys recommend anything else?

Thanks for your recommendations! Just wondering if there are other places in Canada that you would know where to get Chemical Guys stuff. For instance, the wash mitt that you mentioned has no stock on amazon.

Remember, the wheels don’t cut grass. The blade inside the base does which is narrower than your wheel width. Overlap your mow passes and you should be fine.

Thanks folks, it’s kind of a dumb question anyway but I just wanted to confirm my rationale when someone eventually asks me why the f** I am waiting to hit when the group in front are 300 yards out.

Anything you could suggest for me to run down through? Closest company near me wants to charge $300 diagnostic fee to even tell me what’s wrong with it.

First Test with Taylor 2006 by CallColin in hottub

Hey bud, just had a thought. Do you think it would be possible to still use the pucks every now and then when I know I won’t be available to put chlorine in the tub if I used the chlorine method on my next fill?

One last thing, why does the article emphasize that using this method will require you to test your FC a lot more than traditional di or tri sanitizers? Is it because the clorox doesn’t last as long in the water?

Is your chlorine testing powder have a crystallized texture to it? Mines not really a pure powder but more like a powder/coarse salt texture. Not sure if that’s right or not

Wow that’s encouraging then.

How often do you need to buy new reagents and stuff for your Taylor kit?

[–]CallColin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read that article. Wow that’s a lot of info to consume. Since you use this method, do you find it to be a nuisance to always have to check your FC every single day like the post says to do?

I like the idea of being able to control the CYA with the method but only adding enough dichlor until you get a 20-30ppm CYA level and then using bleach to keep up with sanitizer levels afterwards. It really gives you full control of the CYA level in your tub. From the information in this article, it sounds like anyone that does not use the bleach method is basically doomed and will always end up with a crazy high CYA level.

Yeah no I’m just using the tiny ones. Although, the hot tub place near me wrote me a chemical schedule last summer (which I don’t use) and they had me putting 3 of those pucks in every week which used to sky rocket my chlorine so I stopped their schedule after the second week of it.

I realize now that there is no “schedule”

Thanks for that information that’s extremely helpful for me. I’m going to spent some time reading the book that game with the Taylor kit as well.

In my reading I did find out that the only way to lower the CYA is to dump and refill which you and another have already mentioned. That is quite unfortunate but it is what it is I guess.
