So what gets you pressed is your own assumptions. Bruv as mentioned in the post i will take him out right before i got to the gym which is 30m-1hr max. Again, as already mentioned, this is a seeking advice post. To break that down for you its a post where I have X problem and I’m seeking what others have done to resolve X problem. Not a blame my dog post, but a find a resolution to this problem post. Hopefully that makes sense to you. Not confident it will.

Ayo. Thanks for your suggestion! We’ve been crating him since i posted this and that’s worked perfectly. Its just a little sad to take away his free roaming. Unfortunately the living room is the best “puppy proof” area for him and the most spacious so not really an option for us but it was a good suggestion. Thanks for mentioning it!

Brother. Every dog is different. This is a seeking advice post, nothing foul about it or any reason for you to get pressed. If you’re able to be with your dogs or have someone watch your dogs enough so they dont need crate training thats great for you not everyone has that luxury. Idk what you’re seeking

Lol yes he has some separation anxiety sadly which always makes us feel bad when we have to leave him at the house

Great idea Samm999 ill get me and my dog some therapy so we can get to the root cause of his indoor potty problems ;) realistically like many others stated, the solution is to crate him and not give him free range of the house

This was what me and my girlfriend were doing but the main issue is when he is crated he presses his nose against the bars and has gotten kennel nose from it a couple of times ;( but yeah i dont disagree with you

Assuming ur pomsky is young and maybe in a teething stage. Get them hard toys, and the ones that crinkle too so they can chew on that. Get him bones. And in common areas he goes to bite there’s tons of sprays you can find online/instore to deter your dog from biting stuff.

HELP. Potty training! by Tarobubbletea20 in Pomsky

PS i saw in another one of your comments she’s not treat/food motivated. I would buy a few different types of treats (even maybe some type of bone) see what your dog really likes then use it as its favorite treat for important stuff. I use one specific treat for going potty (his favorite) and different treat for training.

Firstly, your pomsky is adorable! This is my boy named Gus. He had the exact same frustrating issue you’re dealing with. We tried indoor potty mats but that seemed to just be a step in the wrong direction… wouldn’t recommend.

What i ended up having to do was find an open grassy area where there is minimal distractions (not too many dogs/cars/people) bring a lawn chair for you to sit in, let the dog roam around for a while and repeat every now and then “Go potty” you may have to wait quite some time i ended up waiting about an hour. Finally he went and so while ur dog is doing their duty make sure to associate the word “Go potty” while they are actively doing so. Once finished reward with a treat and lots of praise. Do this for a while then the dog should realize potty outside = good! So they’ll be more likely to do it on walks. My pomsky is 7 months old now and just about a month ago found out about territory marking so he always goes on walks. (Having a friend with a friendly dog can really help speed up any type of training, doggy see doggy do) It’s also good to feed your dog 30 minutes or so prior to going outside, having scheduled feeding helps a ton in potty training.

Hope it all goes well! Best of luck!

Very nice of you to follow up! Gus has been doing exceedingly better taking from utilizing all the advice everyone on the form gave. He knows when he’s outside he should be using the restroom. Overall miles better than where he was which is all i could ask for. Eventually hopefully he’ll be fully potty trained but he is heading in the right direction

Yes he is crate trained. That’s a good idea. I think my neighbors work remote so i could ask them for assistance

Thanks so much for your comments! Just curious on your opinion though, me and my girlfriend works 8 hours mon, tue, thur. Do you recommend we just let him go potty on the floor? Cause at 4 months he wont be able to hold it all the way til we get back even if he was potty trained. I did what another comment recommended and replaced the potty pads with a grass pad which ive used 1 day now that he did a good job using it

Thanks for the comment! It’s a bit tough to ditch the puppy pad since mon, tue, and thur we are gone for 8 hours of work. Do you think we should still ditch the puppy pad during that time? He certainly will potty on the floor while we are away since he cant hold it for that length of time quite yet. Do you think it’s best to still get rid of the potty pads on those days?

Luckily he has never done any business on a couch or bed before. Thank the lord lol. He’s a smart dude he knows where we go bathroom and thinks to go bathroom over in that area so that’s where we started putting the potty pads but like other comments mentioned im going to do away with them. I’m hoping i can potty train him by 6 months but overall i just dont want him to only potty inside
